Reflections on 2012: Transit of Venus, Hurricane Isaac and Solar Eclipse

As we near the end of 2012, not knowing what the end of the year 2012 and 2013 may bring, it is insightful to look at some events that have taken place. There are way too many signs of His Imminent Coming to cover, so I would like to reflect on just a few: the Transit of Venus, Hurricane Isaac and the Total Solar Eclipse. I would also like to comment on what took place toward the end of 2004: the Indonesian (Aceh) earthquake.

Transit of Venus, Great Earthquake (2004) and Total Solar Eclipse (2012)

I put some thoughts together on the Transit of Venus (2004 and 2012), the Great (Aceh/Indonesian) Earthquake of 2004 and the (14) November Total Solar Eclipse in a letter of 14 November 2012 (link below). One of the most important aspects of the Transit of Venus is that both dates point to Jerusalem (8 June 2004 and 5/6 June in 2012).

In respect of the Indonesia earthquake, what may not be remembered is that three days and ten hours previously a very strong 8.1 (Richter) earthquake was recorded 800 kilometres off Tasmania (Australia). It was felt in Tasmania but there was little if any damage due to its location halfway between Tasmania and Antarctica. Like a warning, both earthquakes occurred at one minute to. In Australian time:

· Earthquake off Tasmania: one minute to 2 am Australian time on 23 December 2004

· Indonesia: one minute to noon Australian time (58:53 UTC) on 26 December.

What is important is that if a very strong earthquake is imminent, it is prudent to observe earthquakes that may be a precursor to a much larger earthquake. The recent 6.8 earthquake in Vanuatu may be a link in a chain. Such precursor earthquakes may cause little damage or tsunamis due to the nature, depth and location.

Hurricane Isaac and the Total Solar Eclipse

One of the most outstanding signs of 2012 was the arrival of Hurricane Isaac on 28 August - exactly seven years after Hurricane Katrina and coinciding with the Southern Decadence (homosexual) festival in New Orleans (see link to my letter below).

What is also interesting is that five years later takes us to 28 August 2017, with a total solar eclipse in the United States as a seven day warning before this date!? This would also complete a 12 year cycle from Hurricane Katrina. The focus of the total solar eclipse on 21 August 2017 appears to be on the United States: the first eclipse with a path of totality crossing the USA's Pacific coast and Atlantic Coast since 1918! The longest duration longest duration will be in Christian County, Kentucky!!!

After waiting all this time, it is interesting that there will be another total solar eclipse in parts of the United States on 8 April 2024 (within a seven year timeframe). We do not know how this fits with the timing of the Rapture and the seven years of Jacob’s trouble, but the timing of the 2017 (21 August) eclipse is stamped in bold letters! How can we sum up these signs in 2012?

We have had a year of strong signs. The Transit of Venus in 2004 and 2012 may indicate that a pivotal event, possibly a major earthquake, is imminent (8 years on from the Indonesian earthquake on 26 December 2004). The eclipse at dawn on 14 November 2012, could be a fulfilment of Isaiah 13:10 (the Sun will be darkened at its rising), heralding the Day of the Lord. The focus of this eclipse was Australia, and together with other prophecies, may signal a pivotal role for Australia in the end-time outpouring of the Holy Spirit. And what better name, and timing, could there be for a hurricane? Isaac! The child of promise - the miracle child born to Abraham and Sarah! Then Sandy came - just so many signs. Let us look up, wait with expectancy, watch with diligence and warn with passion and love! Maranatha! Denis

Personal postscript (the end of time keeping as I know it, the end of my watch).

As if programmed to the Mayan date, I woke up on Friday 21 December 2012 to find that my watch, which had kept time for years, had stopped in the early hours of the morning. I had already bought a new Seiko watch and just had to wait until Christmas (today!) as it was a present. This new watch is an automatic mechanical watch, one that just needs movement (no battery). The back of the watch is transparent so that you can see some of the inner workings.

Perhaps just a coincidence, but I believe that the Holy Spirit within us is going to enrich and inspire our watching for His Coming! I believe through revelation from the Word of God, and our sharing together as Doves, we will see and understand more of His great power and wisdom at work in the world - insights into God’s Eternal Purposes that are accelerating in the world!
