The Prophecy of Jubilees by Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel
January 1, 2010 with updates March 8, 2011In June of 2009 an e-mail was sent to subscribers concerning a little known Rabbinic prophesy according to Israel Today. According to this article, Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel was a top Talmudic scholar in Germany. Just before he died in the year 1217 he prophesied that the Ottoman Turks would rule over the holy city of Jerusalem for eight jubilees. That is 400 years (8 x 50). The Ottoman Turks did take control of Jerusalem 300 years after the Rabbi’s death in 1517 and as according to the prophecy, the Ottoman Turks then lost Jerusalem 400 years later in 1917. It was during WWI that British General Edmund Allenby walked into Jerusalem on Hanukkah without firing a shot in 1917. The timing of this with the holiday and the ease at which it occurred indeed make this moment of history extremely significant.
In the book, Signs of the End, the significance of this date and its events helped launch the book. This was without even knowing of the Rabbi’s prophecy. They key was Allenby’s entrance into Jerusalem during Hanukkah. With the first world war underway with nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom there was added importance. By the year 1917 all nations that were involved in the war had become involved. But the kickoff day for WWI was the 9th of Av 1914, when Russia and Germany entered the war establishing the plurality of nations involved in the war. In doing a study on the day counts found in Daniel, these two days came up on the radar screen at the same spacing and these days were the second day of Hanukkah (Kislev 26) and the 9th of Av. With these days occurring in 1914 and 1917, it was found that 100 years later that the same day counts of Daniel will occur. This was hypothesized with 100 years being the limit of a generation found in the Bible (as defined by Abraham’s 4 generations of a total of 400 years-–is it a coincidence that the Rabbi’s prophesy of 400 years also ends in 1917?).
The Rabbi then went on to say that after the eight jubilees, the ninth jubilee would have Jerusalem being a no-man’s-land, which it was from 1917 to 1967 until the Six-Day-War. The Rabbi’s prophecy then stated that in the tenth Jubilee that Jerusalem would be controlled by Israel and then the Messianic end times would begin. That would then bring the time to 2017.
Update
However, the 2010 to 2017 time for the 70th Week of Daniel, as previously proposed, is no longer possible since it is now the year 2011. Though this prophecy of Judah Ben Samuel ends in 2017, it may allow the new conclusion being worked that 2017 is the beginning of the End, meaning that 2024 is the conclusion of the 70th Week. According to Judah, Israel will control all of Jerusalem in the tenth jubilee and that is when the Messianic end times begin. Is it possible that the Day of the Lord has until the end of this tenth jubilee to begin? Of course, this prophecy is not a biblical one, but it has so far hit every mark. That it points to 2017 like so many other timelines makes this an important one to consider. If the Rapture does indeed occur in 2017, then it would seem that the prophecy of Judah Ben Samuel would remain at 100% accuracy. It is difficult to ascertain, since the original documents of Judah Ben Samuel have not been viewed, but only what is reported on the below article. Based on the article, it only speaks of the Messianic end times beginning during the period of the tenth jubilee. That period is viable until 2017...

After a single day's fighting the Turks retreated and Jerusalem fell into British hands

On the first day of the Jewish feast of Hanukkah in December 1917, the Battle of Jerusalem resulted in the city of Jerusalem falling to British forces led by General Allenby, after 400 years under Turkish rule.
Allenby was an accomplished horseman and it would have made sense for him to ride triumphantly into the city. However on 11 December Allenby entered on foot out of his great respect for the Holy City, becoming the first Christian to control the city in centuries.
Allenby placed the city under martial law, and posted guards at several points within the city and in Bethlehem to protect sites held sacred by the Christian, Muslim and Jewish religions.
This victory was the end of the Ottoman Empire's rule over Jerusalem, which lasted 400 years. The Ottomans defeated the Mamelukes in 1517 and took over the city, and in 1520 the Sultan Sulieman the Great decided to use the city as a base for his rule over the area. This led to the rebuilding of the walls in 1536-1541. These walls, which still stand today, are 4 km in length and built on the foundations of the Roman city Aelia Capitolina.

The date for the attack on Jerusalem was fixed as December 8th.
Welsh troops, with a cavalry regiment attached, had advanced from their positions north of Beersheba up the Hebron-Jerusalem road on the 4th. No opposition was met, and by the evening of the 6th the head of this column was ten miles north of Hebron.
The infantry were directed to reach the Bethlehem-Befit Jala area by the 7th, and the line Surbahir-Sherafat (about three miles south of Jerusalem) by dawn on the 8th, and no troops were to enter Jerusalem during this operation.
It was recognized that the troops on the extreme right might be delayed on the 7th and fail to reach the positions assigned to them by dawn on the 8th. Arrangements were therefore made to protect the right flank west of Jerusalem, in case such delay occurred.
On the 7th the weather broke, and for three days rain was almost continuous. The hills were covered with mist at frequent intervals, rendering observation from the air and visual signalling impossible.
A more serious effect of the rain was to jeopardize the supply arrangements by rendering the roads almost impassable - quite impassable, indeed, for mechanical transport and camels in many places.
The troops moved into positions of assembly by night, and, assaulting at dawn on the 8th, soon carried their first objectives. They then pressed steadily forward. T he mere physical difficulty of climbing the steep and rocky hillsides and crossing the deep valleys would have sufficed to render progress slow, and the opposition encountered was considerable.
Artillery support was soon difficult, owing to the length of the advance and the difficulty of moving guns forward. But by about noon London troops had already advanced over two miles, and were swinging northeast to gain the Nablus-Jerusalem road, while the yeomanry had captured the Beit Iksa spur, and were preparing for a further advance.
As the right column had been delayed and was still some distance south of Jerusalem, it was necessary for the London troops to throw back their right and form a defensive flank facing east toward Jerusalem, from the western outskirts of which considerable rifle and artillery fire was being experienced.
This delayed the advance, and early in the afternoon it was decided to consolidate the line gained and resume the advance next day, when the right column would be in a position to exert its pressure.
By nightfall our line ran from Neby Samwil to the east of Beit Iksa, through Lifta to point about one and a half miles west of Jerusalem, whence it was thrown back facing east. All the enemy's prepared defences west and northwest of Jerusalem had been captured, and our troops were within a short distance of the Nablus-Jerusalem road.
The London troops and yeomanry had displayed great endurance in difficult conditions. The London troops especially, after a night march in heavy rain to reach their positions of deployment, had made an advance of three to four miles in difficult hills in the face of stubborn opposition.
During the day about 300 prisoners were taken and many Turks killed. Our own casualties were light.
Next morning the advance was resumed. The Turks had withdrawn during the night, and the London troops and yeomanry, driving back rearguards, occupied a line across the Nablus-Jerusalem road four miles north of Jerusalem, while Welsh troops occupied a position east of Jerusalem across the Jericho road.
These operations isolated Jerusalem, and at about noon the enemy sent out a parlementaire and surrendered the city.
In the operations from October 31st to December 9th over 12,000 prisoners were taken. The total captures of material have not yet been fully counted, owing to the large area covered by these operations; but are known to include about 100 guns of various calibres, many machine guns, more than 20,000,000 rounds of rifle ammunition, and 250,000 rounds of gun ammunition.
More than twenty airplanes were destroyed by our airmen or burned by the enemy to avoid capture.
I entered the city officially at noon, December 11th, with a few of my staff, the commanders of the French and Italian detachments, the heads of the political missions, and the Military Attaches of France, Italy, and America.
The procession was all afoot, and at Jaffa gate I was received by the guards representing England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, India, France, and Italy. The population received me well.
Guards have been placed over the holy places. My Military Governor is in contact with the acting custodians and the Latin and Greek representatives. The Governor has detailed an officer to supervise the holy places.
The Mosque of Omar and the area around it have been placed under Mostlem control, and a military cordon of Mohammedan officers and soldiers has been established around the mosque.
Orders have been issued that no non-Muslim is to pass within the cordon without permission of the Military Governor and the Muslim in charge.

"The Final 7 Years....a new perspective??"

For 25+ years I've always believed there was going to be a Peace treaty with Israel, signed (or confirmed) by the Antichrist, which we will begin the 7 year tribulation. I also firmly believed we would be raptured before the AC appeared on the scene....you could say i was a 100% pre-tribber. Until I studied the Word of God for myself.
Here's what we already know:
Dan 9:24-27 says the AC will arise and confirm a covenant (agreement) with the many. While I disagree with Ron Reese and Mathman's 2008-2015 timeline, i believe they were on track by naming Obama as the AC...but i believe they are looking at the wrong starting date as the beginning of the final 7 years.
"Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate..." (verse 27).
We know that the "one week" is the final 7 year period.
We agree that the middle of the final 7 years, the sacrifices cease and the abomination is set up.
Here's what I recently discovered, regarding Dan 9:27:
"Then he (antichrist) shall confirm a covenant (agreement) with many for one week..."
I believe the 7 year period (one week) isn't something that was planned by man to be an actual 7 year peace treaty with Israel. Rather, the final 7 years (one week) that Daniel already marked out for us in this prophecy of the 70 years began when a "peace agreement" was made to the world. I believe this "peace agreement" made to the world was when the Nobel Peace prize was awarded to Obama on Oct 9, 2009.
Dan 11:21 tells us, "...but he shall come in peaceably and seize the kingdom by intrigue".
Dan 11:23-24, "And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches, and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time".
Oct 9, 2009 is the date that began the final 7 years!!
For those who have watched the "Daniels Timeline" video series (www.danielstimeline.comSEE VIDEO BELOW) published in 2005, you know that the presenter used "scripture to validate scripture" and thus, marked out March 22, 2013 as the exact mid-point of the final 7 years. I was SHOCKED when i discovered that exactly 1260 days prior to March 22, 2013 was Oct 9, 2009....the exact date the Norwegien Nobel Committee announced the Nobel Peace prize was to be awarded to Obama (http://nobelpeaceprize.org/en_GB/laureates/laureates-2009/announce-2009/).
