Why We Need an Alternative Media

There is little doubt that President Obama got his head handed to him in the first debate. The most fanatical Obama supporters have been forced to admit that October 3 was not the president's night. Even Van Jones, President Obama’s former special adviser, was forced to say, “Romney was able to ‘out-Obama’ Obama."

The most common excuse being given by the press for the debacle is that Obama had four years of yes men, so he was a bit rusty. I would point out that they are the reason Obama was so rusty. It's a given that the president would be surrounded by a staff of sycophants. For centuries, it has been the job of the press to keep our highest political leaders honest. In the past few years, the liberal media has descended to the point that I'm unable to tell the difference between a White House reporter and a paid Democratic spin doctor.

Even when Obama treats the press with disdain, they still blindly do his bidding. When our embassies were attacked last month in the Middle East, the president came out and read a statement. He promptly left without taking any questions, which has become a common practice for him. The focus of the liberal media on that day was what Romney had to say. They huddled together and decided to attack the former governor for speaking out too soon on such a sensitive issue.

One of the lowest points for the mainstream press would have to be the Fast and Furious Scandal. We had the Bureau of Tobacco, Alcohol, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) facilitating the sale of guns to Mexican drug cartels, and the killing of border patrol agent Brian Terry with one of those weapons. Eventually, Attorney General Eric Holder became the first acting Cabinet member to be held in criminal contempt of Congress for refusing to hand over documents in response to a subpoena. The liberal media has portrayed this sad affair as a non issue.

The most galling statement by the liberal media would have to be them asking why Obama is so lucky to be ahead in the polls with the economy in the dumpster. They are the ones who made him lucky by presenting the narrative that "everything is going smoothly in the nation." The media constantly parrots the Obama administration's positive spin on employment. For example,they talked about all the hiring retailers were making in the lead-up to Christmas sales. They glossed over the fact that these were seasonal jobs. The real economic story should have been that America is experiencing its longest period of high unemployment since the Great Depression.

Whenever the press is granted a sit-down interview with Obama, all he gets are softball questions. Steve Kroft from 60 Minutes asked Obama this silly question: "As an outsider, can you still get things accomplished in Washington?" Obama answered with an even more ridiculous remark, “My biggest disappointment is that we haven't changed the tone in Washington as much as I would have liked.”

A lot of conservative commentators realize what is going on with liberal media, but they don't understand they are all of one mind. Rush Limbaugh has blamed liberal group think on the fact that members of the dominant media go to the same schools and hang out with each other. The expansion of liberalism is not the work of a social club. It is an invasive cancer that is actively spreading throughout our nation. Nearly every major Christian education institute has fallen under the spell of the liberal agenda.

The God of this world is the one who is pulling strings. The Bible warns that Satan is "the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" (Ephesians 2:2).

The liberal media is a huge threat to our freedom. The day may come when someone in power decides to consolidate power under him, and if he shares that person's political view, the press will proclaim the move as bold and decisive. Since we already have a national media that is ready to blindly serve a left-leaning dictator, all is needed is someone with the ambition to seize power.

The only way to combat the destructive influence of the liberal media is to create an alternative media that can compete. We do have right-wing talk radio and Fox News, but they are only a small part of a big pie. During any given month, the liberal media still provides the lion's share of the news coverage to the American people.

I am very pessimistic about the future. I have to be very realistic about our proximity to the Tribulation hour and the likelihood of events continuing to thread in a negative direction. I also know that most people don't care about what is happening to our nation. Even though the vast majority of the citizens of America classify themselves as conservatives, few of them care enough about the health of our nation to change their viewing habits. If only a small percent of the population voted with their feet, liberal fortresses like MSNBC, CNN, and the New York Times would collapse like a house of cards.

Global Economic Gulag

One can feel the noose tightening, even though freedom of movement--in America, at least--seems as unfettered as ever for the most part. While people plan for the next week, month, and year--whether considering purchases of homes, cars, or other big-ticket items like college education for children, or whether planning vacations to places near or far—economic rumblings from Europe and from within our own nation engender uncertainty and uneasiness among those truly paying attention.

Mainstream media are complicit in helping the government keep the actual statistics of employment from coming to light. They fudge the figures to show that unemployment is slightly under 8 percent, while economists in the know will tell you it could be, in actuality, as high as 15-16 percent–and growing.

What both the media conglomerate and the bureaucracy-laden federal government don’t want you to get clear in your mind is that a class of U.S. citizenry has been created that is enslaved within a gulag environment out of which no people so enslaved have ever escaped. It is a system out of which no empire on earth that has come to the point at which the United States now finds itself has ever escaped.

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney merely mentioned this “47%” class of gulag-bound citizenry. The mainstream media, echoing his opponents’ attack, descended upon him like Serengeti scavengers and carrion upon the prey left by a pride of lions when finished feeding on the carcass. The fact was not changed. Romney was and is correct. There is a gulag class that will never vote for anyone or any system that might take away their chains of poverty and release them to begin doing work that would rebuild an economy that would restore their ability to earn their way through life. Rather, they prefer to be fed by the state like the prisoners they are. This is because sloth–again speaking of those who can but don’t want to work—is a baser element of the fallen nature. They simply don’t agree with God’s Word on the matter–that if one does not work, neither should he eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

It is true that a small percentage caught up within that incentive-killing class warfare created by vote-voracious politicians and bureaucrats (that include both major parties, incidentally) would much prefer to work, but for legitimate reasons can’t. This is not to denigrate these. Nor is it meant to denigrate those who have been locked generationally into this imprisonment that is as much slavery as was the slavery over which this nation suffers guilt-obsession, fed by that same media and governmental system, to perpetuate the voting bloc they must have to stay in power.

So, America, shackled with and to the slaves of entitlement is, as my friend Jack Kinsella has put it, “headed toward an economic abyss.” As soon as austerity is seriously mentioned as the beginning of the way to try and avoid the crash–as it surely will be not long after this election cycle— the nation will experience inner turmoil that will perhaps even eclipse the rage fomented by the Civil War.

Freedom as we have known it will be, as a necessity to quell the rage, lost to this once-great experiment in republican democracy. We are indeed headed for economic gulag, both nationally and globally.

News from Europe, with the impending financial cataclysm that looms over Greece and Spain, presages America’s own approach to the precipice of economic abyss. The following excerpted report contrasts Switzerland and Sweden--which still hangs onto fiscal sanity--with the ticking time-bomb the European Union has become.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – As headlines continue to trumpet the economic tsunami swamping much of Europe, there are at least two countries that are weathering the storm better than the rest: Switzerland and Sweden.

[Reasons] why the Swiss and Swedish economies are doing so well relative to the European Union: economic freedom, national currencies, work ethic, and more.

Other governments could learn something.

The largely free Swiss economy is performing the best by far, but even Sweden, after a decade of market reforms, is doing very well compared to the rest of Europe. Both economies are still growing even as the eurozone contracts.

In Switzerland, the unemployment rate is hovering at about 2.7 percent. Sweden, even with its nightmarish regulatory regime over the labor market, has a stable unemployment level of about 7 percent.

By comparison, in socialist Portugal, the number is over 15 percent and climbing fast. With 25 percent unemployment, socialist Greece and Spain are doing even worse.

The average in Europe is about 11 percent if official figures are to be believed…

The Role of Economic Freedom:

To attribute the relatively strong performance of the Swiss and Swedish economies to any one factor would be overly simplistic… Instead, there are multiple reasons for their successes.

Among the most commonly cited are high levels of economic freedom compared to other countries, low government debt levels, strong work ethic among the Swiss and Swedish populations, and the fact that neither country adopted the controversial euro.

According to the Heritage Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom, Switzerland has the freest economy in Europe. It placed fifth globally – well above the United States.

Well-secured property rights, low levels of corruption, strong respect for the rule of law, an efficient legal system, openness to foreign trade, and other factors all contributed to Switzerland’s designation as one of the freest economies in the world…

Part of the reason that the Swiss have managed to maintain such a high degree of economic freedom is a uniquely decentralized political system – a confederation with a Constitution under a weak central government – where most issues are decided locally. America’s government continues to become more centralized by the day. Executive orders and federal court intervention in overturning voters’ decisions, and socialistic regulations that are choking every aspect of private enterprise, assure that we are going the way of the Europeans–Switzerland and Sweden apparently excepted—as they look for the strong man that can give them the kind of high wage, low work hours they desire.

Such a man is on the way. He will bring with him the most horrendous form of global gulag imaginable. He will enslave every man, woman and child. That’s the world’s future as foretold in Revelation 13:16-18.

The fast track of financial enslavement upon which this generation finds itself is a prime indicator that Christ’s intervention into human history can’t be far in the future.

My two cents comment:

All about these liberal media are about Islam basically. These all liberal media have stocks owned by big Islamic corporations in the middle east and some of their decisions are already tended to be driven by this "shadow directors".

Just try one little thing, the moment Obama moves away from Islamic support, the moment these media will be cruel to Obama ....

It is not about Obama but it is about who supports Islamic view in the White House.
