"2 Thess 2 : Daniel 9 : 27 Why the rapture needs to be before the election in one month"

One thing that occurred to me from reading everyone's input on " O's " possibility of being the AC. The rapture during October would undoubtedly remove enough conservative votes from the polls to make his re-election a landslide. That is if the rapture did not in itself render the election a non-issue due to worldwide chaos( I'm sure most of us have pondered every talking point for this possibility) There is also the vote fraud issue that overshadows all else because of the lack of a paper trail.

Moreover, the seeming fulfillment of prophecy by the Ac's covenant with many for one week at " O's" speech also brings up another issue. When God told Moses that He had raised up Pharaoh so that The Lord God's power would be shown in all the earth, it goes to show that possibly God has allowed/ facillitated "O's" rise to power, and has also veiled his past and purpose. Why ? To perform that which was prophesied and spoken by The Lord, and what will by His will come to pass.


Who with any semblance of sanity would finance and cause to be elected such a vile individual, unless they were ignorant innocents, but ultimately if they were complicit, they would either be delusional or mad, possibly beyond repentance.


Plus look at the meddlesome persistence of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Even after their disasterous presidencies they still persist in hobnobbing and consulting with power structures and being influential. Don't believe for a second that " O " will simply fade into the background if he's not re-elected. A loss could be a false reprieve that would move him where he was intended to ultimately reign, like CIA director .


2 Thess 2 seems to imply we won't be here to see the results.

It seems rather clear to me that 2 Thess 2 says there will be no rapture until "that Wicked" is destroyed at the parousia of the Lord (2:8):

"That Wicked" will first be revealed by "the falling away" (2:3)

He will then claim to be God (2:4)

He will then be destroyed by the "bright" parousia of the Lord (2:8)

So:

First: Parousia of "that Wicked" with all power (2:9)- that Wicked revealed - falling away takes place

Next: That Wicked as God in the temple of God (2:4)

Last: That Wicked destroyed by bright parousia of the Lord - rapture occurs (2:8)

That the rapture occurs at the parousia is taught at 1Thess 4:

1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the parousia of the Lord

What in the world John??? maybe I am misunderstanding you, but it looks like you are suggesting that the rapture does not occur until the Lord destroys the wicked one with the brightness of his coming?

You do realize that the "coming" spoken of here is the second coming, when the Lord returns to earth ,right?

And if so, you might want to notice who returns with him in Revelation 19 as well as Revelation 17:14.

Yes indeed. This verse calls it "the brightness of HIS PAROUSIA" and we see here very clearly being taught by Paul that His PAROUSIA is "bright" and "destroys" that Wicked. So it is very easy to see (as you agree) that this PAROUSIA OF THE LORD is speaking of the second coming. Now turn back to 1Thess4 to see WHEN the rapture occurs:

1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the PAROUSIA OF THE LORD shall not prevent them which are asleep.

So if we step back from all of the teachings being thrown around, and simply look at what the apostle is teaching it is very clear and simple to understand. The rapture occurs at the PAROUSIA OF THE LORD- and HIS PAROUSIA is bright, and destroys "that Wicked"- so everyone looking for a rapture BEFORE the PAROUSIA OF THE LORD are looking for something that isn't going to occur.



Yes indeed; this is also spoken of by the apostle in his letter in verse 14:

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so THEM ALSO WHICH SLEEP IN JESUS WILL GOD BRING WITH HIM.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

So at the PAROUSIA OF THE LORD, Jesus will return, bringing "them also which sleep WITH HIM", "that Wicked" will be destroyed, and "we who are alive and remain UNTO THE PAROUSIA" will be "caught up together to MEET THEM in the air"

First: parousia of that Wicked (King of Babel/son of perdition) and all his host

Next: Saints overcome, truth cast down, that Wicked sits in temple as God

Last: parousia of the Lord Jesus with all his saints, that Wicked destroyed, rapture of those alive and remaining
