Like yourself, I wish people to understand about the need to keep the Ten Commandments, especially this fourth commandment which few do keep ever since Sunday was made a mandatory substitute by Constantine in the 4th century to honor his sun god. We are not to keep the commandments of men.
Interestingly, the scripture "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" is found in Exodus 20:8, 2500 years after it was instituted by God Almighty in Genesis 2:1-3.
We all descend from the seed of Adam, and so are told to "remember", which means something which was told before, and in this case, 2500 years before.
So this is not a day to be kept by the Jews only, but by all of us.
The Ten Commandments are what we are all to follow, Matthew 5:17-19, and John 15:10-12. If you don't know the Law, you do not know what sin is, 1 John 2:4. Grace is given by God for repentance, as even those born again do slip up now and then, unintentionally or otherwise, such as telling a lie, coveting, looking upon a woman to lust after her, and other such things.
The Pharisees knew the Law, but they did not keep it. It is the same today whether Jew or Gentile, whether in the U.S. or anywhere else in the world.
Sabbath is not Sunday. It has never been changed in God's holy Word. You cannot find that Jesus or Paul or anyone else in the Word of God has changed it. Jesus said He is the Lord of the Sabbath day, Matthew 12;8. He arose at the end of the Sabbath day according to Matthew 28:1, 6, KJV.
Also Consider that the day is measured from sundown to sundown, not as incorrectly observed today at midnight.
Jesus was gone before the first day of the week as we see in these verses in Matthew 28:
v. 1 "In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
v. 6 :He is not here, for he is risen as he said......"
During this day of rest, you cease from your work and do just what God gives you to do; as a day of rest, of worship and prayer, with Jesus as your example.
