I got saved at Ferrum, just before school got out my Freshman year. Ferrum is a Methodist College in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We(my Christian group) went to see Nicky Cruz in Roanoke.

Nicky was the head of the Mau- Maus in New York City, the toughest gang, the cops even feared them. David Wilkerson came and preached the Gospel to the street gangs and Nicky got saved.

Nicky repented, quit doing the evil that he'd done and began to walk with Jesus. I get his testamony, Run Baby Run, his book and the Cross and the Switchblade all mixed up in my mind, Nicky's Testamony was so powerful to me.

David Wilkerson became nationally known overnight. The story got out and books and movies were made.

David started praying for the gangs in NewYork and then God sent him there to preach. David taught me by his behavior to pray for rocky stoney wasted ground.


God can make the rocks to grow flowers if we ask him.
