"Lag B' Omer: THE WEDDING DAY: 5-9 to 10, 2012"

Dear Doves,

Before the great Second Temple at Jerusalem was destroyed by Titus and the Romans in 70 AD, the period of the Counting of the Omer was one of joy, real rejoicing.

Sheaves of barley, called omers, were brought to the Temple each day as sacrifices. Passover was like the betrothal and Shavuot (Pentecost) the wedding day, with the honoring of the long before events at Mt. Sinai, the wedding of YHVH and the House of Israel people of the 12 tribes.

But after the destruction of the great Second Temple, much changed. The sephira, the 7 weeks of the counting of the Omer, became a period of semi-mourning.

Restrictions were strictly for 7 weeks. WEDDINGS were PROHIBITED. No weddings, or music, or banquets, no haircuts, or singing were allowed.

This year from sunset Iyar 17 to 18 on 5-9 to 10, the mourning practices are suspended on Lag B' Omer.

This will be day 33 of the Counting of the Omer until day 50 of Shavuot (Pentecost) of 5-26 to 27.

Many weddings for Jews will occur on day 33 in Israel and elsewhere, beginning at sunset on Iyar 17. Lag B' Omer also will be a day for picnics, outings, bonfires, parades, singing and dancing, music, children's games like bows and arrows. It is THE DAY which is the ONE JOYOUS of the 49. It is THE WEDDING DAY.

If The Blessed Hope, The Messiah's Wedding Day following the Ancient Jewish Wedding Model, will occur during the month of Iyar in 2012, might Iyar 18 be THE DAY? It is the only day of 49, for mourning, for prohibitions, to be ended and transformed into joyous activities.

Symbolically, day 33 Omer Count, will not apply to Ascension Day, on Iyar 25, on 5-17. ( May 17th 2012 ) Will the kosher Jewish rabbi follow Jewish traditions and arrive on Lag B' Omer to spirit away His bride? We shall see.

He will come on a day few expect His arrival.

How many people know anything about Lag B' Omer? Very few.

Fasting before the wedding and mourning transformed into ineffable joy with wedding, feasting, and wine?

Remember The Master's warnings about drunkenness, the cares of life, not watching, and sleepiness in 3 of the 4 Gospels? We shall know soon.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was created on Lag BaOmer of 1948. The IDF comprises the Israeli army, Israeli air force and Israeli navy. It was formed to defend the existence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state of Israel and combat all forms of terrorism which threaten the daily lives of its inhabitants.

Hurva Synagogue Destroyed ( 1948 ) Less

The Hurva synagogue located, in the Jewish quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, was captured and dynamited by the Arab Legion of Jordan during the battle for Old Jerusalem in 1948.
The synagogue was built by the group of disciples of Rabbi Elijah (the "Vilna Gaon") who immigrated from Lithuania in 1864. The synagogue was built on the ruins of the synagogue built by Rabbi Judah Chassid (Segal) and his disciples in 1700, which was destroyed by Arab mobs in 1721. It was therefore named the "Hurvat Rabbi Judah HaChassid" -- the ruins of Rabbi Judah the Chassid, or simply "The Hurva" -- The Ruin.

Lag BaOmer Less

Lag BaOmer (the 33rd day of the Omer count) celebrates the end of the plague amongst Rabbi Akiva's students, and the ascent on high of the soul of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai (see "Today in Jewish History"). The mourning practices of the Omer period are suspended, which is why many three-year-old boys receive their first haircut on this day. Many visit the gravesite of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron in northern Israel. It is customary to go on outings and to light bonfires; children play with bow-and-arrows to recall that "during the lifetime of Rabbi Shimon the rainbow (--a sign of the world's unworthiness, as per Genesis 9:14) was not seen."

The Lubavitcher Rebbe initiated the organization of parades of Jewish unity and pride on Lag BaOmer and on a number of occasions (in 1953, 1956, 1957, 1960,1966, 1967, 1970, 1976, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1987 and 1990) he addressed the parade held near his headquarters in Brooklyn in which thousands of Jewish children and their teachers participated.

Count "Thirty-Four Days to the Omer" Tonight Less

Tomorrow is the thirty-fourth day of the Omer Count. Since, on the Jewish calendar, the day begins at nightfall of the previous evening, we count the omer for tomorrow's date tonight, after nightfall: "Today is thirty-four days, which are four weeks and six days, to the Omer." (If you miss the count tonight, you can count the omer all day tomorrow, but without the preceding blessing).
The 49-day "Counting of the Omer" retraces our ancestors' seven-week spiritual journey from the Exodus to Sinai. Each evening we recite a special blessing and count the days and weeks that have passed since the Omer; the 50th day is Shavuot, the festival celebrating the Giving of the Torah at Sinai.
Tonight's Sefirah: Yesod sheb'Hod -- "Connection in Humility"

The teachings of Kabbalah explain that there are seven "Divine Attributes" -- Sefirot -- that G-d assumes through which to relate to our existence: Chessed, Gevurah,Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod and Malchut
("Love", "Strength", "Beauty", "Victory", "Splendor", "Foundation" and "Sovereignty"). In the human being, created in the "image of G-d," the seven sefirot are mirrored in the seven "emotional attributes" of the human soul: Kindness, Restraint, Harmony, Ambition, Humility, Connection and Receptiveness. If Lag B'Omer is the only day that marriages were allowed during the Omer count (5/9-5/10), and the church
is known as the bride, how could Jesus come for the church on Ascension Day 5/17 when marriages weren't
traditionally allowed? Just curious about your thoughts. The ones watching for the rapture are also likened to
wise virgins, again supporting that the coming to get us is related to the Jewish wedding tradition.

POINT 1

The key word there is “traditionally.” The Bible does not tell Israelites to keep Lag B’Omer. If the Lord did not put it in Scripture, we don’t have to take it into consideration.

Satan has been trying very hard to muddy the water with all kinds of conflicting and false religious ideas ever since the Tower of Babel, when Nimrod and Semiramis set up the Mystery Religion of Babylon. Nimrod and their son Tammuz were worshipped as the sun god. Semiramis and Tammuz were worshipped as the Madonna and child. Semiramis said that Tammuz was killed by a wild boar and was resurrected.

I wondered if Lag B’Omer was mentioned in the Talmud, so I searched on Google and this was the first thing that came up:

“This week marks Lag B'Omer, the thirty-third day of the counting of the Omer, a minor holiday whose origins are shrouded in mystery. It is a day of celebration in the midst of the more solemn mood of the rest of the days of the Omer. Why is this so?
“The Talmud records that one year, through the first weeks of counting of the Omer, twelve thousand pairs of disciples of Rabbi Akiva died until the 33rd day, when the deaths ceased (Yevamot 62b).”

Here is what Wikipedia says about the Talmud:

“The Talmud (Hebrew: תַּלְמוּד talmūd "instruction, learning", from a root lmd "teach, study") is a central text of mainstream Judaism. It takes the form of a record of rabbinic discussions pertaining to Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, customs and history.

“The Talmud has two components: the Mishnah (Hebrew: משנה (c. 200 CE), the first written compendium of Judaism's Oral Law; and the Gemara (c. 500 CE), an elucidation of the Mishnah and related Tannaitic writings that often ventures onto other subjects and expounds broadly on the Hebrew Bible.”

POINT 2

There are two Raptures, the First-Trump Rapture of I Thess 4:16,17 and the Last-Trump Rapture of I Cor 15:51-54. They cannot be the same event, as many claim. Those raised at the first Rapture are not made immortal until after the last Rapture. You can’t have a last without a first.

Num 10:1-4 says, “the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Make thee TWO TRUMPETS of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them (i.e., both) for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. 3 And when they shall blow with them (both), ALL the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 4 And if they blow but with ONE trumpet, then the princes (i.e., elders), which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee” (as in Rev 4:1-4).

POINT 3
I think the 144,000 Israelites will be added to the wise-virgin Bride of Christ group at the Last-Trump Rapture before the Marriage of the Lamb will take place.

Rev 5:9 says, “And they (i.e., wise-virgin saints caught up in the First-Trump Rapture) sung a NEW SONG, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation”.
After the Last-Trump Rapture of Rev 7, Rev 14:1-5 says, “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a NEW SONG before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and NO MAN COULD LEARN THAT SONG BUT THE HUNDRED AND FORTY AND FOUR THOUSAND, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for THEY ARE VIRGINS . These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are WITHOUT FAULT before the throne of God.”

The Last-Trump Rapture will take place on the Day of God’s Wrath (Rev 6:17; 7:14). That is the day Jesus receives his millennial kingdom. Like Solomon, he will purge it at the outset. I think the Last-Trump Rapture will take place on Trumpets, Sept 14, 2015, just before the asteroids of Rev 8:8-11 impact Earth.

During the silence in Heaven and Earth, Jesus will be seated as judge at the Judgment seat of Christ. After his duties there are taken care of, the Marriage of the Lamb can take place.

Hab_2:20 says, “But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the EARTH KEEP SILENCE before him.”

Rev_8:1 says, “And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was SILENCE IN HEAVEN about the space of half an hour.”

Rev 19:1-7 says, “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he HATH JUDGED the great *****, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. 3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent REIGNETH. 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB IS COME, and his wife hath made herself ready.”
