Larry Wessels, director of Christian Answers of Austin, Texas/ Christian Debater (YouTube channel CANSWERSTV; websites: BIBLEQUERY.ORG, HISTORYCART.COM & MUSLIMHOPE.COM) arranged for this Bible eschatology debate to take place on his ministry's radio broadcast called "Christian Answers Live!" The special guests for this theological debate are Dr Jay Adams & Dr John McClain. Dr Adams is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in Greek and received the A.B. degree. He earned a B.D. from the Reformed Episcopal Seminary, the S.T.M. from the Temple University School of Theology in Homiletics and a Ph.D from the University of Missouri. He has published more than 100 books. Dr John McClain earned his Ph.D from the University of Michigan & is the President of Michigan Theological Seminary. Lee Meckley is the radio host for "Christian Answers Live!"

Amillennialism teaches that the Kingdom of God will not be physically established on earth throughout the "millennium", but rather that Jesus is presently reigning from heaven, seated at the right hand of God the Father, that Jesus also is and will remain with the church until the end of the world, as he promised at the Ascension,
that at Pentecost, the millennium began, as is shown by Peter using the prophecies of Joel, about the coming of the kingdom, to explain what was happening,
and that, therefore the Church and its spread of the good news is Christ's Kingdom.

Amillennialists cite scripture references to the kingdom not being a physical realm: Matthew 12:28, where Jesus cites his driving out of demons as evidence that the kingdom of God had come upon them; Luke 17:20-21, where Jesus warns that the coming of the kingdom of God can not be observed, and that it is among them; and Romans 14:17, where Paul speaks of the kingdom of God being in terms of the Christians' actions.

In particular, they regard the thousand year period as a figurative expression of Christ's reign being perfectly completed, as the "thousand hills" referred to in Psalm 50:10, the hills on which God owns the cattle, are all hills, and the "thousand generations" in 1 Chronicles 16:15, the generations for which God will be faithful, refer to all generations. (Some postmillennialists and nearly all premillennialists hold that the word millennium should be taken to refer to a literal thousand-year period.)

Amillennialism also teaches that the binding of Satan described in Revelation has already occurred; he has been prevented from "deceiving the nations" by preventing the spread of the gospel. This is the only binding he will suffer in history: the forces of Satan will not be gradually pushed back by the Kingdom of God as history progresses but will remain just as active as always up until the second coming of Christ, and therefore good and evil will remain mixed in strength throughout history and even in the church, according to the amillennial understanding of the Parable of the Wheat and Tares.

Premillennialism in Christian end-times theology is the belief that Jesus will literally and physically be on the earth for his millennial reign, at his second coming. The doctrine is called premillennialism because it holds that Jesus' physical return to earth will occur prior to the inauguration of the millennium. It is distinct from the other forms of Christian eschatology such as postmillennialism or amillennialism, which view the millennial rule as occurring either before the second coming, or as being figurative and non-temporal. Premillennialism is largely based upon a literal interpretation of Revelation 20:1-6 in the New Testament which describes Jesus' coming to the earth and subsequent reign at the end of an apocalyptic period of tribulation. It views this future age as a time of fulfillment for the prophetic hope of God's people as given in the Old Testament

"CHRISTIAN ANSWERS" VS "CATHOLIC ANSWERS" DEBATE ON GOD'S PREDESTINATION: JAMES






Larry Wessels, director of Christian Answers of Austin, Texas/ Christian Debater (YouTube channel CANSWERSTV; websites: BIBLEQUERY.ORG, HISTORYCART.COM & MUSLIMHOPE.COM) presents his ministry's radio broadcast entitled, "Christian Answers Live!" hosted by Lee Meckley. This show features former Jehovah's Witness for 15 years & now Christian author Lorri MacGregor. Lorri is the author of the book, "Coping with the Cults." She has appeared on "The John Ankerberg Show," is co-director with her husband Keith MacGregor of "M & M Outreach Inc" (website: MMOUTREACHINC.COM), has distributed free literature warning about the dangers of cults throughout Canada & the United States & her ministry has touched the lives of tens of thousands of people since it began in 1979. In many cases small ads have been placed in the classified section of various newspapers throughout the U.S. & Canada which offer free literature exposing the Jehohah's Witnesses & other cults (getting a very good response from the public).

Lorri discusses how to identify a religious cult & discusses such groups as the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), Seventh-Day Adventism, Herbert W. Armstrong's "Worldwide Church of God," & communal cults such as Rev Moon's "Unification Church," Osho Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh & his Rajneeshpuram, The Way International, Hare Krishna, the Divine Light Mission, etc. Lorri's book emphasizes the importance of defending the deity of Christ (Jesus is Biblically God the Son, second person of the Holy Trinity despite what the Jehovah's Witnesses & all the other cults say) & shares important tips for witnessing effectively with cultists.

What is a cult? The quick definition is "organized heresy." By its primary dictionary definition, the term cult just means a system of religious beliefs or rituals. It is based on a farming term in Latin meaning cultivation. Sociologists and anthropologists sometimes use the term cult to describe religious structure or belief patterns with meanings (usually non-pejorative) unique to their disciplines. In modern usage, the term cult is often used by the general public to describe any religious group they view as strange or dangerous. Thus, cult can describe religious leaders or organizations that employ abusive, manipulative, or illegal control over their followers' lives. In addition to these usages, Christians generally have a doctrinal component to their use of the word. Cult in this sense, is a counterfeit or serious deviation from the doctrines of classical Christianity. In most cases the group claims to be Christian, but because of their aberrant beliefs on central doctrines of the faith (God, Jesus, and salvation), the organization is not considered part of orthodox, biblical Christianity.

NEW AGE "I AM" CHURCH UNIVERSAL & TRIUMPHANT DEBATE: LARRY WESSELS VS. VERNER

This debate took place on Larry's ministry radio outreach show entitled, "Christian Answers Live!" hosted by Lee Meckley. Verner Zotter, a local cable access television producer, took exception to Larry Wessels' local cable access shows playing on Time Warner channel 11 in Austin, Texas & thus challenged for debate. Wessels saw this debate as an opportunity to deal with one of the many forms of "New Age" religious belief that sets itself up in opposition to Biblical truth. The "Church Universal & Triumphant" (CUT for short) is one of the chief sects to grow out of the "'I AM' Ascended Masters" new age religious movement. "I AM" has its roots in an eclecticism of ancient GNOSTICISM, Eastern MYSTICISM, THEOSOPHY, & CHRISTIANITY. Borrowed from Exodus 3:14, the phrase "I AM" attempts to capture the locus & essence of deity that resides in a line of "Ascended Masdters" throughout history.The "I AM" movement proper began in the 1930s with GUY BALLARD (1878-1939) & his wife Edna (1886-1971). Borrowing from the Gnostic idea that God, as absolute spirit, is only accessible through human intermediaries, the Ballards taught that these "Masters" had been raised up at various times throughout history to reveal God's truth. The chiefs of the Ascended Masters were Jesus & a seventeenth-century OCCULTIST, Saint Germain, with whom Ballard claimed to have had contact in 1930 on Mount Shasta in California. Guy Ballard died in 1939 & his wife Edna then claimed that her dead husband was now an "Ascended Master" & she claimed to be in contact with him. Following Edna's conviction for mail fraud & fraudulent solicitation of funds she continued to provide leadership for the movement until her death in 1971. The "Church Universal & Triumphant" (CUT) was founded by MARK L. PROPHET (1918-1973). Prophet, a Theosophist, claimed to have received revelations from the Ascended Master "El Morya" after which Prophet announced that he was the secretary or revealer of "El Morya's" thoughts & discourses. In 1975 the CUT, then known as the Summit Lighthouse, published a document allegedly by "El Morya" supposedly linking key leaders of THEOSOPHY (another New Age religious group), Ascended Masters throughout history, the Ballards, & finally Prophet.Elizabeth Clare Wolf was an attendant at some of Mark Prophet's early conferences. She was immediately attracted to him as they shared a common vision on the night of April 22, 1961, in Boston. They were soon married & found themselves in constant contact with the spirit world. Eventually, Mark & Elizabeth began to proclaim themselves the divinely appointed messengers of the "GREAT WHITE BROTHERHOOD"(made up of CONFUCIUS, BUDDHA, Jesus Christ, Jesus' mother Mary, Saint Francis, Saint Germain, El Morya, & among present figures, Guy Ballard & Mark Prophet) & sought international outlets for their teachings.After Mark Prophet died in 1973 Elizabeth renamed her religious organization the "Church Universal & Triumphant". Elizabeth also found out through "communication" with the Ascended Masters that she was now to be given the titles of "Guru Ma," "Mother of the Flame," & "Mother of the Universe." Her teachings say that God does not exist apart from the created universe. Her doctrine of God is similar to PANTHEISM as taught by Hinduism. Like many New Age cults, CUT does not make the distinction between God & creation as Christianity does. CUT says "Jesus" & "Christ" are to be understood as being two different concepts. For CUT "Jesus" is just a historical person that lived in Palestine while "Christ" embodies a principle of divine consciousness possessed by everyone in the world. CUT also denies the Biblical concept of the Godhead, the Trinity (Father, Son & Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19), they say the "Holy Spirit" is not God but rather a depersonalized "energy," a "germinal power of nature," or the "Fire of the Cosmos." CUT denies the Biblical account of salvation by denying the necessity of Christ's death on the cross & the reality of eternal punishment by a righteous & holy God. CUT rather says that salvation is achieved by "self-realization" (similar to Hinduism & Eastern thought) by claiming that once a person becomes aware that they themselves are divine, then salvation has been accomplished. This debate will clearly show the differences between the Biblical record & people who base their beliefs on "visions" & communications with "Ascended Masters." Biblically speaking, the "Ascended Masters" would be considered demonic spirits preaching "doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1-3)





NEW AGE HEALING CULT OF MARY BAKER EDDY: "CHRISTIAN SCIENCE" - NEITHER CHRISTIAN NOR

presents another broadcast of his radio program "Christian Answers Live!" hosted by Lee Meckley. The special guest for this broadcast is Jeff Fitzgerald, staff apologist & researcher for the organization "Christian Way" located in Phoenix, AZ ("We are former Christian Scientists -- former followers of Mary Baker Eddy, her religion, & her "textbook". We have all found a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is based upon the Bible and not upon its spiritual interpretation as presented in "Science and Health." Our members belong to a variety of denominations, but we hold certain core beliefs that are central to Biblical Christianity." - website: CHRISTIANWAY ORG).

Of all the biblically-based cults in America today, Christian Science is one of the most ironic. Not only does it deny the essential doctrines of Christianity, but it has completely reinterpreted the Bible. It drastically redefines the Bible's culture and terminology and rips thousands of scriptures out of their historical and biblical contexts. The result is a non-Christian mixture of metaphysical and philosophical thoughts. Christian Science is so foreign to the Bible that, if it didn't use words like Jesus, Trinity, Love, Grace, Sin, etc., you'd never suspect it had anything to do with the Bible at all. Additionally, the book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" written by "mind science" follower Mary Baker Eddy which is the Christian Scientist's mainstay of spiritual knowledge, reads with a rhythm of pseudo-logical statements that has the tendency to dull the senses. Is Christian Science Christian? No! This religion claims physical healing but has led to many deaths, particularly of children.

"Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" is the primary interpretive source of the Bible and source guide of "Christian Science." It interprets the Bible in a radically different way. It is so different, in fact, that it absolutely rejects the substitutionary atonement of Jesus and states that it had no efficacious value (S&H, 25:6). It denies that Jesus is God, second person of the Trinity (S&H, 361:12-13). It says that sin is a false interpretation of Divine Mind and is nonexistent (S&H, 335:7-15). And it says that the Holy Spirit is Divine Science which is best represented by Christian Science (S & H, 331:31). The list can go on and, unfortunately, it does.

To the Christian Scientist, God (the Father-Mother) is a Principle known as the Divine Mind. It has no personhood and no personality. A catch phrase used in their literature is that God is "All in All." In other words, God is all that exists and what we perceive as matter is an interpretation of divine mind. Since God is love, it means that sin and sickness are only errors of interpreting the Divine Mind and have no true reality (S & H, 330:25-274; 470:9-14).

To the Christian Scientist, Jesus is a Way-shower. He is someone who epitomized the true principle of the Christ Consciousness which indwells us all. Therefore, Jesus did not really die on the cross. He was not God in flesh. He made no atonement in shedding His blood (S&H, 25:6).

Christian Science teaches that man does not have a sinful nature and is a reflection of Divine Mind. To achieve "salvation," he needs only to find the true reality of understanding, as revealed in Christian Science teachings. Unfortunately, these teachings are from Mary Baker Eddy a woman who founded the religion in the 1870's and are not from God. Rather much of what Eddy has put into her "Science & Health" book came from her occultic associations (see Deuteronomy 18:9-14) & her plagiarisms from mind scientist P.P. Quimby's manuscripts concerning his so-called "Science of Health." In 1862 Eddy committed herself to Quimby's care to heal her of her "spinal inflammation" which she claimed he did via his "Science of Health."

The Christian Scientists consider their philosophy to be consistent with the original teachings of Jesus. They consider truth a matter of higher understanding and learning. But the reality is that Christian Science has only produced unbiblical and false doctrines. Eternal destruction is the only thing that will result from its false teaching. The fires of hell will be a bitter reality for those who have been taught that they don't exist.

KING JAMES BIBLE "ONLY" DEBATE: IS THE KJV THE ONLY REAL TRANSLATION? JAMES WHITE VS

presents this radio debate between Dr James White, director of "Alpha & Omega" Ministries (website: AOMIN.ORG) & Dr. D.A. Waite, director of "Bible for Today Ministries" (website: BIBLEFORTODAY.ORG). Larry Wessels, besides his own ministry's radio show called "Christian Answers Live!" also participated in the weekly radio broadcast called "In Defense of the Faith" which is the broadcast in which this "KJV Only" debate took place.

"King James Onlyites" & "Ruckmanites" (of Peter S. Ruckman) make a big deal about how other Bible translations are inferior or in some cases "Satanic" (as per Gail Riplinger's "New Age Bible Versions" & her supporters such as Texe Marrs - see our video response to this, copy & paste "New Age Bible Versions" & the "King James Only" Controversy - A Refutation" in the YOUTUBE search box). But why hasn't this controversy been going on in the Christian church over the last 400 years since the KJV came out in 1611? Why does this controversy seem to be restricted only to the middle 1900s & beyond? There is a reason for this. The "King James Only" theory was started by a Seventh-Day Adventist & others then bought into it (much like any new cultic movement).

BENJAMIN WILKINSON. In the investigation of King-James-Version-Onlyism, (KJVO) just such a genealogy of error can be easily traced. All writers who embrace the KJV-only position have derived their views ultimately from Seventh-day Adventist missionary, theology professor and college president, Benjamin G. Wilkinson (d.196 , and then through one of two or three of his spiritual descendants. In 1930, he wrote "Our Authorized Bible Vindicated," a book of several hundred pages which attracted almost no attention in its day (no doubt because it was awash in a vast ocean of unmitigated error). In that book, Wilkinson attacked the Westcott Hort Greek text, in large measure by attacking Westcott and Hort personally (the common but fallacious ad Hominem method). He also expresses a strong opposition to the English Revised Version New Testament (1881), in particular objecting to it because it robbed Adventism of two favorite proof-texts, one allegedly teaching Gentile Sabbath keeping (Acts 13:42), the other misused by the Adventists to teach soul sleep (Hebrews 9:27). Wilkinson was the first to misapply Psalm 12:6,7 specifically to the KJV as though the passage were a promise to preserve the words of verse six (when in fact the promise is the preservation of the persecuted saints of verse five). Wilkinson also manufactured the erroneous idea that the medieval Waldensian Bible was based on the Old Latin version and not the Vulgate, and that the Old Latin version was Byzantine in its text-type (all of which is demonstrably false). Thus Wilkinson, is the first generation of KJV Onlyism.

J.J. RAY. Wilkinson's book lay unused and unknown (and how good it would have been had its errors died with him!), until 1955 when J.J. Ray, who is self-described as a "business manager, missionary, and Bible teacher" published a little volume, "God Wrote Only One Bible" (Ray is apparently still living, but we can find out nothing about him, and he refuses to reply to certified letters; if anyone can supply specific information about this man, we would greatly appreciate it). In his book, Ray heavily plagiarized, without note or acknowledgement, Wilkinson's book, repeating and propagating wholesale Wilkinson's errors and misstatements.

DAVID OTIS FULLER. The other chief disseminator of Wilkinson's misinformation was David Otis Fuller, a Regular Baptist pastor. Fuller must be counted as part of the third generation, since, according to Fuller's own words in the dedication of Counterfeit of Genuine (1975), Ray's book "God Wrote Only One Bible" were also repeatedly noted on pp. 2-4 of "Which Bible?" Fuller reads Ray; Fuller writes Ray for more information; Ray directs Fuller to Wilkinson; Fuller reads Wilkinson, is lead astray, then reprints Wilkinson in "Which Bible?" In 1970, Fuller issued "Which Bible?", which was in its 5th edition by 1975 and contained 350 pages. Of those pages, almost half were taken from Wilkinson's "Our Authorized Bible Vindicated," with some editing, first to conceal from view Wilkinson's cult affiliation, and second, to correct some of the worst of his errors. According to D.A. Waite, long associated with Fuller in KJVO matters, Fuller knew full-well that Wilkinson was an Adventist and deliberately concealed that fact from the reader, and even from the publisher [see note at end of article], because the Baptist brethren "wouldn't understand."
