Israel Blessed While Surrounded by Enemies

As enemies encircle Israel, God has blessed His land with an abundance of oil.





Israel has been the only middle-east nation without oil.
The United Nations, President Obama and the Arab Nations have come against Israel. Amongst the strife, Israel has discovered a major oil field off of the coast of Tamar.

In 2009 Israel announced the discovery of a natural gas field off the coast in the Tamar region. Last December a major natural gas discovery was verified in the Easter Mediterranean within Israel’s waters. This discovery could allow Israel to become a major energy exporter over the next decade while supplying the country with approximately 200 years of natural gas. This could cancel out Israel’s plans to buy natural gas from Russia.

Noble Energy, Inc. made the miraculous discovery. The company said drilling tests in it’s Leviathon field confirmed it was the world’s largest gas find in the past decade and “easily the largest exploration discovery in our history.”

Oil could be found under the natural gas. This could enable Israel to be less dependent on energy from other nations. If the gas is turned into liquid natural gas, nations like Greece and Cyprus could be potential buyers. Leviathon is estimated to produce gas in 2016, while Tamar starting in 2013.

There is an issue however, that needs to be ironed out. The Levant Basin is only partly a possession of Israel. It is also shared by Gaza, Lebanon, Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. There may be disputes about drilling, but evidence reveals Israel’s gas does not extend into Lebanese territory.

Taxes and royalties is another hurdle to overcome. Israel’s cabinet approved an increase on profits from the gas discovery which would double the tax rates.

Noble Energy, Inc. considered suing Israel in an international tribunal.

Abraham Sofaer, the Noble representative in Israel stated to the AP:

“I don’t need to tell you what a disaster it would be to have two great allies, Israel and the United States disputing with one another in an European Court.” Any retroactive change “would violate the treaty of friendship, commerce and navigation between Israel and the U.S.”

A compromise is expected as Noble Energy plans on operating in Israel for many years to come.

My comment:

The blessings of God upon Israel surely astounds it’s enemies. The blessings pour from the hands of their Messiah, Yeshua Whom has not forgotten His people. The miracle of oil is to show the world that the God of Abraham and Moses is the Lord of All. One day the nations will bow at the Name of Jesus and every tongue confess Jesus is Lord.

Resistant superbugs found in New Delhi

The NDM 1 gene, which creates what some experts describe as “super superbugs”, has spread to germs that cause cholera and dysentery, and is circulating freely in other bacteria in the Indian city capital of 14 million people, the researchers said.

“The inhabitants of New Delhi are continually being exposed to multidrug-resistant and NDM 1-positive bacteria”, said Mark Toleman of Britain’s Cardiff University School of Medicine, who published the findings in a study on Thursday.

A “substantial number” of them are consuming such bacteria on a daily basis, he told a briefing in London. “We believe we have discovered a very significant underlying source of NDM 1 in the capital city of India,” he said.

NDM 1, or New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase 1, makes bacteria resistant to almost all antibiotics, including the most powerful class, called carbapenems.

My Comment:

As a Christian, there is not one day that goes by that I do not see an “end time” sign on the news.

This resistant superbug is what Our Lord and Savior calls pestilence as an end time sign.

Matthew 24:3-8

“And you will be hearing of wars an rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines, and pestilence’s and earthquakes. “But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.”

Our Messiah Jesus Christ is near. It is not too late to pick up the Word of God, and accept his salvation.
