Leviticus is perhaps the hardest of books to read and rightfully so since it is full of instructions for the priests that officiated at the Altar on behalf of the people of Israel. Every detail had to be followed to the letter. These priests came down from the lineage of Aaron, the brother of Moses.

I noticed, while listening to the various instructions of how the animals were to be killed & certain parts were not to go onto the Burnt offering. These were the liver, kidneys, blood and even the fat which makes sense. After all, if the sacrifice was to be without blemish, then these organs that carried and filtered out disease would have to be removed. It is like removing the diseased parts of a body in a medical surgery. .

Now speaking of a body, this whole Book of Leviticus with it's rituals was pointing ahead to the True Body of Sacrifice that gave His Life to redeem mankind. That body had to be without spot or blemish and so He was. He, put aside His divinity and took on the body of a human yet He did not have a biological father but was put into the womb of the Virgin girl, Mary by the very power of His Spirit. That it why the Bible speaks of Him being born of a Virgin. It is not a license to elevate Mary into a goddess, which the Catholic Church has done. By the way, the blood taken from the Burial Cloth of Yahusha, when tested, showed only 1/2 of the chromosomes of a human with a single Y that designated it was a Male. And, it was still alive.

Leviticus goes on to teach of Yahuah's Feasts which is a calendar of events that need to take place to fulfill Yahuah's time-table for mankind. We know that the first 3 Spring Feast all took place within One Week when Our Savior died, was buried and arose from the grave and presented Himself to the Father as The First Fruit. The middle Feast was Pentecost when His Spirit was poured upon the Believers to help them in their walk and to spread His Gospel.

Anyway, that sacrifice had to be completely pure and worthy to pay for out sins. As you read Leviticus, you will see how precise the Laws in that book were. It all points to the fulfillment of the sacrifice when Yahusha did it all. Man, trying to carry out these laws was impossible. When He arose, He even set the captive free who were held in Abraham's Bosom. Those captive were the pre-Atonement on the Cross Believers.

What an awesome book Leviticus is when you follow the Feasts of Yah rather than the modern Christianity pagan feasts of Christmas, Easter, Halloween, All Saints Day and All Souls Day. There is no sweet aroma in those holidays despite how people may hold them near and dear to their hearts.
