Daniel 9 The 70 Weeks Prophecy Decoded (the abomination of desolation)

In a previous video we learned that the 2300 day prophecy equates to 2300 literal years. We also learned a little about the literary structure of Daniel 9. Now lets get some answers. Does the prophecy foreshadow the destruction of Jerusalem which occurred in 70 AD? What other important events does it foretell?
The 70 weeks prophecy in Daniel clearly foreshadows the destruction of Jerusalem. But more importantly, it also foreshadows the crucifixion of Jesus and the Judgement of mankind. Now that we have studied a little about the Hebrew literary style of Daniel, we are ready to dive into the 70 weeks prophecy.
We will study one section at a time.
Section A1 states that the 70 weeks are a time of Probation for the Jewish nation. Dan 9:24 reads Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city. The angel Gabriel tells Daniel that 70 weeks of years or 490 years were "cut off" especially for the Jews. In strong's concordance we see that The underlying Hebrew term for the word determined is chathak (kah-thak) which can be translated as cut off, decreed, or determined. The Jewish nation is here given a time of probation in which it would be seen whether the nation would accept or reject the Savior, the long awaited Messiah. Mercy may plead for years and be slighted and rejected; but there eventually comes a time when mercy makes her last plea. The human heart becomes so hardened that it ceases to respond to the Spirit of God. That day had come for the city of Jerusalem and her inhabitants. Jesus wept in anguish over the doomed city, but He could not deliver her. He had exhausted every resource on her behalf. He had preached in her synogogues, healed her sick, cast out demons. The prophets had foretold his coming, his mission and his death. In rejecting the warnings of God's Spirit, Israel had rejected the only means of help. God removed his protecting presence and the Roman empire caught her defenseless. The Jewish nation is a symbol of people from all ages who scorn the pleadings of God's Love. Jesus himself foretold the destruction of Jerusalem.
Luke 19:41-44 reads, Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
Jesus on another occasion uttered this prophecy of lament: Matther 23:37 reads “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 See! Your house is left to you desolate;
Matthew 24:2 reads And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (Matthew 24:15
Section B1 of the chiasm refers to the "tamid" or continual ministry in the heavenly sanctuary. Dan 9:24 reads To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. This is sanctuary language and refers to the ministry of Jesus in the sanctuary. Gabriel is explaning the sanctuary prophecy given in Daniel 8:14. This passage also addresses the cleansing of sin from the heavenly sanctuary.
Section C1 foretells the coming of the Messiah. Daniel 9: 25 reads Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. He would arrive on the prophetic scene when the seven weeks and the sixty two weeks were fulfilled. This takes us to the year Ad 27, the very year Jesus was baptised. Matthew 3:15 reads Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 And John tried to prevent Him, But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” This passage teaches us that Jesus was baptised to fullfil all rig
