Re: Mach's bucket

A thought experiment "Mach's bucket" will be impossible to explain change of centrifugal force (rotational body's) caused by man act.

Re: Mach's bucket

About revolution of planets, how does Mach's bucket insist ? It's said that gas like matter (origin of planets and the sun) was "rotating".

Re: Mach's bucket

In Andromeda galaxy, there is a scholar who says a thought experiment "Mach's bucket". How does the universe rotate ?

Re: Mach's bucket

In my memory, there is an article on an asteroid. It rotates (slowly ; cycle differs) on two axes. It's difficult to image Mach's bucket.

Re: Mach's bucket

An asteroid Toutatis. Cycle is 5.41 days and 7.35 days.

Re: Mach's bucket

On the same axis, there are three discs. The first is rotating clockwise, the second is rotating counterclockwise and the third is at a standstill. Centrifugal force of the first and the second is the same, and that of the third is zero. How does Mach's bucket insist ?

Re: Mach's bucket

From viewpoint of kinetic energy, rotary motion will be absolute.
