As we wait for the coming of our new year, our country is on the road to renewal and rising to a new dawn in her colourful and glorious history. Our people have rejected the tyranny of the ethnocentric fascists. We will defend the votes of our people and we will build a new and democratic Ethiopia.

I hope this Ethiopian New Year will be motivating factor to most Amhras to cease complaining and work hard hand in hand with "Non Amhra Ethiopians" for progress of Ethiopia.
