THE EPRDF GOVERNMENT

The Way Things Appear:
In Ethiopia today we live under a regime that is characterized by skilled, calculated and sweet words but unfortunately followed by bitter actions; it is a system of beautiful rhetoric and ugly deeds. The question is how does one discover this truth? Will it be from those who suffer the pain or from those who deliver the pain? To discover this truth and make it known before it is suppressed, is a perilous poison in the Ethiopia's present administration. Trying to discern this truth, makes the experience of this country both complex and engaging. The EPRDF tries to deny this truth to others but can it deny it to itself? Look at the PMs statement on Ana Gomes, Bereket simons statements among others. it is a pity!!I have come to find that one who has much patience soon learns to lose it and the one who does not have patience learns to acquire it through the dictates of the Melese leadership. with the EPRDF style,it is the action that demonstrates whether the answer will be "yes" or "no", this is why the "Ishi" often fails to produce positive results for it is only a polite substitute for no. One is stunned to hear from top EPDRF officers answers like "Inja, Alawukem" (I just don't know, I have no knowledge) or "Minim Alsemahum" (I have not heard anything) or worse even "Min Awukalew" (what do I know/how would I know), such kind of answers are clear depictions and ways for one to avoid responsibility over something or a way to evade, hide and to suppress the reality. Therefore the EPRDF administrative system should be judged by their actions rather than their sweet words.
Ethiopia's very nature of social life helps you to know the whole scope of life. Traditional Ethiopia has now lost creditors, the modern Ethiopia has no agents hence she is hanging somewhere between heaven and earth, in the void.

THE STATE OF AFFAIRS OF ETHIOPIAN GOVERNMENT
Ethiopia is a Federal Democratic Republic by Constitution. She boasts as the only African state that was never colonized. The present government has been formed after a boldly war to oust the then dictator Mengstu Hailemariam. The transitional administration has had two terms still under the umbrella of transition. The government of Ethiopia is very unstable, led by a badge of ex-bandits and ex-guerrillas. The Prime Minister Mr. Melese Zenawi a soldier himself runs the government in a jungle style of leadership; struggle for the strongest and scramble for power. The rule of jungle does not allow for the other voices. Or the other alternatives, the secret is normally "I will finish you before you finish me". With this understanding I can now proof that Zenawi has led the country as a personal enterprise or a private property by changing State Affairs as Private Affairs, common goal and interest as personal. The voices that seem potential for being critical are silenced in such way that it becomes an example and lesson for the rest. Those who seem to see what is happening are the first to go. Those who seem to follow the system of the administration have very thin chances of survival. To avoid the contribution of those found wise and able so that they don't awaken feelings and reactions among masses, they are wiped a way very systematically without causing any movements. Independent voices are enemies and peace promoters are considered burdens of state life. This explains why Ethiopia has isolated herself from the world. It shows why the rate of development is on a lonely level. Any information from outside is censured or distorted to suit the system. Foreigners have two conditions to live either the authorized style or quit, to promote it or leave it as it is. No choices. This shows why respected and known ambassadors of powerful states never challenge the evils in Ethiopia. Who can propose alternatives? Foreigners have no life span in Ethiopia; those who christen negative aspects as positive and evils as good then their reward has been great and continous look at the big ministers like Bereket, Genet ...
Who would dare say that the wife of the Prime Minister is the controller of the state security, more powerful than the state president? Who could dare comment of the power invested on the leaders from the North of the country? Where do the Senior Government Officers come from? Yet the sarcasm is that all the rest are only powerful by name but only rubber-stamp. The Northerners direct the driving force in the state affairs, but who would dare publicly declare any knowledge? Who heads the Country's owned parastatals and what supremacy is there for them? It is very hard and painful to think of the situation of the Federal States. Ideally all are autonomous and sharing equally the resources and benefits of the state. But who does not know about the investments in Tigrai zone, what authorizes the North to accept foreign NGOs while in Oromiya they are not accepted without complication. The Benishagul/Gumuz and her surrounding peoples, the Somali borders, do they have these equal rights with the rest of the country? See the key administrators of the Addis Ababa Region, hope the CUD now will do us fairness.
It is known that the former palace of Mengstu Haile Mariam, the death place of emperor Haile Selasse is now used as torture chambers. Top security personnel administer all the most crude and brutish styles of torture in presence of authorities. Those who administer this torture are just uneducated rascals collected from Kirayo and the Nole tribes. They are recruited, given a 3 weeks course, ranked as government officers without any particular title and then left to exercise their ignorance on humanity. What else do we expect from an illiterate leadership? Of course to misuse the given power and materials for work in order to proof himself might. He becomes the total man, the unquestionable, the solution to any issue, the most feared, authoritative and dictatorial leader. The consequences are forced democracy and uncompromising decisions among others. All in all it seems very hard to set a criterion used for the appointed to administrative posts. Because in each particular case the motivations and reasons differ. Some rise to power due to loyalty to their political Godfathers while for others it is due to family connections sake. Unfortunately such officers lack a basic preparation for their job thus generating a mal-development society. Consequently it halts all progress and puts down all sectors of life to a stand-still and no vision kind of system.
The top security personnel, administrative and judiciary is all manned by a blend of criminals. Majority have been warlords who rose to power and fame after the absurd killing of their own leaders. Such men have no history that allows them to hold any public office. The governments state spokesperson; from cabinet ministers to police Superintendent, many do not merit the office they hold. Going through court files, we find unbelievably, that majority have ever been charged for criminality more than once in their lifetime. That is why anyone opposed to their way of doing things risks his/her life. To avoid such risks then majority of citizens have chosen to be part of them. The start of the Ethio-Eritrea war is explained under this context. The leadership of Ethiopia prefers their darkness than light. The light as a means of progress and solidarity with rest of the world is like a change, which is an enemy to the Zenawi regime. Instead they opt for darkness an instrument of jealous, oppression, desperation, disorder, disaster, disorientation and turmoil. When these appear then only cunning leaders are able to continue leading. Torture evidently takes root. The foreign donations for Health, Education and other sectors have seen their way to some corrupted pockets. These sectors have deteriorated, collapsed or expired without potential or prospective revival.

THE RULING POWER: Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front-EPRDF

The EPRDF, the ruling party has been formed by a coalition of different parties. These different fronts came together to form a single front which would overthrow Mengistu. Their first mandate was marked by confusions that culminated by forcing themselves in for a second unprepared and unwanted mandate. The present leadership of the EPRDF behaves like a cat that gives birth to 2 kittens and to strengthen herself in order to regain power she eats one of the kittens. She cannot explain why or the kind of strength she gets. In any case, can't the same strength or similar be got without having to spoil her fruits? EPRDF is also compared to a cat that tries to stop a train from passing by lying in the railway line. What happens is clear to the by-standers even before it happens. The train comes, the little ******* is clashed and oblivious of what may have happened the train continues on her journey. I can still compare Ethiopia's ruling with a woman who puts water in a basin ready to wash her newly born baby. Soon after finishing to wash the baby she decides to throw the water. To the amazement of the watching other children and visitors she throws out the baby together with the water. Yet the Ethiopian government behaves like a man who lifts a heavy stone only to drop it or his toes. I have seen clearly that Ethiopia is fond of industries and manufacturing centers. In this same need she likes to manufacture enemies so that she can fight them later. It is known for the system of calculating formulas from the solution hence always entangled in calculating formulas more than real development.
The EPRDF has committed atrocities that are shameful. In the wake of multiparty in African states, in Ethiopia was the wake of mass executions. People were killed by the members of EPRDF forces without any serious trial or a just process of law. In Arsi region, the Arba Gugu area saw their state turn lawless against them. Men were castrated, property looted, houses torched and many lives lost. What is not clear other than the 1993 expulsion of 42 university lecturers? By so doing the EPRDF portrayed its anti-intellectual position that it has always denied. To condemn such educated personalities was like declaring an educational starvation to the state. This action was done such easily as though to produce well-prepared intellectuals was the same as preparing guerrilla fighters in overnight as they are used. With these EPRDF has paralyzed the countries educational pride. When the Melese government came to power, it demolished the then army, condemning hundreds to humiliation and psychologically incapacitating them. But when his regime's survival was in danger all those soldiers were called back and deployed to fronts against Eritrea. Those who refused were harshly punished. The Melese government is famous for all kinds of ill conceived and hasty actions. Her miscalculation and misconceptions due to cunning and inability to accept challenge, critique or even correction makes her citizens pay very heavily. Those who refuse buy a ticket for their own death.
The expulsion of journalists from the ministry of information that has become a routine has rendered the state organ under informed and misinformed. Well-trained journalists are just sacked for their objective reporting and replaced with third class columnist whose reporting does not go beyond humor and inaccuracy. But the continuation of Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) regime will see Ethiopia reducing itself into an empty house, a skeleton and a carcass fit for hound. Well capable Ethiopians fearing to be branded with imaginary misdeeds or being looked with murderous eyes are escaping the country.
To catch up with the Ethiopian system of governance; it is not enough to read the constitution or other legal manuals. It is advisable to listen to popular speeches and talks of the street. People's expressions and life styles are the living law indicators. The written material is a bureaucracy in the name of laws and directives instead it is only a means to manufacture money from the western society. Under the EPRDF regime's policy, highly educated Ethiopians, pet named "criminals" have been removed from society for their security. The brainchildren of the EPRDF are the dissents of former regimes. Tolerance is alien to the Melese regime. Dissents and independent minds have no place. the current regime has thrown out a History worth 100 years. He rejected the Derge style and started regionalism that was a failure from the then off set. Records show that more ruin, confusion, chaos and general failure of Ethiopia has been witnessed in the era of Melese.
The anarchy of Melese trying to proof itself to be the brainchild of Ethiopia has accused without shame all previous regimes. Menelik was accused of bloody oppression. Haile Sellase was named the exploiter and oppressor of peoples. His reign was called a system of failure in schedules. That of Mengistu Haile Mariam's was termed the most brutal regime ever found in the planet earth. The EPRDF has tried to equalize herself with God a thing unheard of. They allege to build from the chaos and nothingness considering every step to be very good. But EPRDF is forgetting her internal conflicts due to people's dissatisfaction, poor governance, opposition voices are not tolerated, no respect to people's preference, erroneous economic policies, and unconsiderate education system among others.
