Some Thing is Not Adding UP

Yilma assures us that every thing is working out just fine. I quote: "The PM will form a new government and the opposition will continue its peaceful struggle as a minority block."

Alemayehu01 declares that the situation has calmed down both in the country and in the Diaspora so much so that he need not engage in any discussion any more. Sort of "the end of history and the last man" scenario.

Ibrahim swears by his "honorary excelency" that the opposition is reduced to dust and CUD will fall in place soon.

Gebrefenafent begs and pleads with the opposition to take up their minority seats in the name of the poor people. Ethiopian echos gebrefenafent and summons the poor and the troden to plead with the opposition not to distablize what Meles has built.

In the face of all this rhetoric, Meles bans CUD from meeting in public to discuss what course of action it would take. If Meles believed that CUD would join the parilament he would have allowed CUD to meet in the Sheraton and offer to pick up the bill. Meles seems to understand the momentum gathering. He has to do every thing in his power to stop it. Yilma and Ethiopian see no reason to worry, the country is in the right direction. Never mind Yilma's recent pleading with Meles to change course. It is interesting to notice that Yilma believes that Meles is in the right direction, but must change course. Interesting.

Re: Some Thing is Not Adding UP

The Amhras dominated political party (CUD) lost the election the 2005 election, and will lose the 2010 election, not because only the opposition lack national agenda and support "Non Amhra Ethiopians(Ethiopians Majority)" nation wide, because...

97% of CUD`s Leadership is dominated by Single Tribe (Amhra TRibe).

Re: Some Thing is Not Adding UP

Dear Mamo: For 15 years, PM Meles has used his legal system to secure and broaden his own dictatorial power. Now he is using his corrupted legal system as a legalizing means to suppress dissenting voices of the opposition parties and individuals. Instead of establishing laws that protect the people's fundamental human rights, he has legal systems that protects and extends his dictatorial power. He is denying the opposition parties to exercise their fundamental rights----freedom of expression, freedom of speech, freedom of association, and freedom of assembly. Now he banned the oppositions not to hold public meetings, by doing so he violated the people's right to seek and receive information that enable them to make the right decision to elect their leaders, "IN A PEACEFUL, TRANSPARENT AND DEMOCRATIC MANNER", as stated on the press release announced by the White House, yesterday. One has to be in a complete denial-state, to say that the country is in the right direction. I am telling you, besides so many damages Meles brought to our country, he killed common sense, big time. Shame on him. May God bless you, Mamo.

May God bless the Great Ethiopia and its people!!
