Nationals in Oslo express joy over Yara award to Meles

Addis Ababa- Some 300 Ethiopians, foreign nationals of Ethiopian origin and friends of Ethiopia residing in Oslo and its environs have expressed happiness over the award given by the Yara Foundation Board to Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said yesterday quoting the Ethiopian Embassy in Stockholm that the Ethiopians, foreign nationals of Ethiopian origin and friends of Ethiopia expressed their joy to the Foundation, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Parliament of Norway.
They said the award was given to the Prime Minister in a recognition of the measures being taken by the Ethiopian government and the efforts of the Ethiopian people to get rid of poverty.
According to a statement from the embassy, the award was given to the Prime Minister for the priority he gave to ensure food security, bring about rural development, poverty reduction and increase food production in the country.
