PM meles to ana Gobezè (ana gome`z)

Already, theories of how the good lady's antipathies have led to the issuing of such a statement have cropped up. I can only hope that that is all there is to it. What cannot be denied is that in a certain sense we may have been lucky. If the election report must be used as an instrument of blackmail, as a weapon to impose "recommendations" on the host government, and massaged accordingly, it is very helpful that such observation missions be headed by some amateurs in that art, as the good lady clearly was. This is so because amateurs would doctor the report in such a clumsy fashion that it becomes relatively easy to pick it apart.
The main question facing us Ethiopians, is where do we go from here?....

Re: PM meles to ana Gobezè (ana gome`z)

The man has really gone nuts. No dobut he has not slept in the last three or four days. Tough luck, Wedi Zenawi: the truth stings and stings bad!

Thank you for admitting in public that you are the party/the government/the army in Ethiopia.

Thank you for showing your true colors to the whole world. We, Ethiopians, know your real MONSTER nature all along. I am sure your diatribe is a rude awakening to many of your die hard supporters in the west and elsewhere. I cannot help but wonder how many of them will still continue to support you after this.

Please spare us from another war. You seem to be set to invade Europe (or what ever the country Anna Gomes is from). I can guess which country she is from based on your childish cry (I will find out). The problem is not Europe or Anna Gomes. The problem, sir is you and your friends. The Ethiopian people have spoken loud and clear: they do not want you in office. Give it up!

Birds of the same feather fly together!

I did not know you speak portugese. Silly me, how can I even think that there is anything you cannot do/do not know. Forgive me, sir!

Thank you though for letting us in to yet another secret: you read, listened and memorized what Mengistu H/Mariam, your look alike dictator said in the past. I remember that Mengistu used the same portugese phrase you used in his Eulogy to the late Samora Machel. I remember it because his next sentence, we thought then, was funny and absurd:"Samora Almotem"!

Your statements are not communicating with each other, sir. Read on.

ENA, your news agency, stated that your minister of information, Mr. Simon, won the Bugna election re-run by a vote of 22,000+ to a vote of 500+ by the CUD candidate. If you remember, even the NEBE delcared that the CUD candidate won the May 15th election by over a 1,000 or so votes. In your letter to the editor, you stated that in the re-election, dobule the people who voted in the May 15th election voted. You even quipped that it came as a surprise to you.

(1) Only you and Mr. Simon and your supporters who live in La La land believe that an election board appointed by you let the opposition cheat votes away from your minister of Information. No body else does! (2) If as you stated somewhere in your ramble, not because you believed in it but because you were trying to score a point, the people knew/know what they were/are doing, what made the 6,000+ informed, rational voters who voted for the CUD in the May 15th election change their minds? Mind you I am not talking about those who were "misinformed" by the opposition and did not vote on May 15th. I am talking about those who withstood the harrassment and the intimidation and went to vote on May 15th! You are not telling us that the mass killings, the mass arrests, the threats to take away their lands convinced them to vote for your minster of information! It is fuzzy math, sir. You know it, we know it the whole world knows it. Mr. Simon do not even qualify, according to your own election rules, to compete in let alone be elected in Bugna.

(3) In your conclusion, you arrogantly stated that you know what the Ethiopian peasant thinks and wants and you speak for the Ethiopian peasant. Sounds familiar. Most of your comrades tell us that you spent most of your 17 years as rebel learning and perfecting the art of socialist dictatorship. Not much is said about your courage in battles, though. Sorry for the digression.

I think the Ethiopian pesants can speak for themselves. They really do not need a self-appointed speaker. What you need to do sir is give the people back what is rightfully theirs: the right to speak, the right to associate freely, the right to vote, and to get their votes counted right. The Ethiopian peasants do not want to hear your empty rhetoric. They have heard it ad nauseam in the last 14+ years. "Where is the love"?

The end is near and you have started seeing it!
