That is the right resolution for the political crisis our country is facing right now. I hope the Ethiopian people at large, the opposition, civic society, will respond to the call.
The call is for everybody: Ethiopian people both inside and abroad, opposition parties, civic groups, professional associations, etc. Even Woyane could participate by accepting the National Unity Government. I accept the call and I hope everybody does. We need to save our country from dictatorship.
You are being cruel to gebrelekuskus by asking him if he is nervous. The dude is peeig in his pants. I told you he is having a nightmare even when he takes five minutes nap. I heard that last Sunday he was praying loud in Gebre Tseion Medehanialem Church in Colorado asking his God to: "Please God save me and Prime Minister Meles from the Gathering Tsunami." I hear a couple of ushers asked him to prey in silence. He thn started shouting loud asking everyone to join him in prayers for Meles. At this point he was escorted out.
He is beyond nerous. He is on Prozac. We need to be understanding.
I like the Hibret Resolution. Now, the the group needs to put its plan in action. I am sure Kinijit is also planning the same. But, here is the real solution, the surest solution. We are still waiting the day to see Kinijit + Hibret = Union. I can't wait to say the word 'The Union'! How musical it is to hear - the Union did this, the Union did that. The Union said that, the Union said this. This is not a fanciful dream of mine, but the historic necessity of our freedom, the basic requirement of our victory. UNITE TO WIN, DIVIDE TO LOSE. There is no other alternative; that is if we want to be free from Woyane rule of terror. Yichalal.
I appreciate your enthusiasm. It true the time is now to show the full force. You mentioned UNION. In what sense do you think they should be unionized? Did you read their repective political program? Do you see any similarity? Just a thought.
Unless either you are full of hunger to be called first lady of Ethiopia or perplexed by the whole situation of Ethiopian politics you shouldn't raise an issue of forming National Unity of Government. Many reasons can be substantiated but, I am fooling myself here to dwell into it as you know why.
To answer your question there is no reason be nervous in my part. Tell us if you are otherwise.
Lastly, unless you are way behind the situation in Ethiopia, CUD (one of oppostion group) have elected its administrative officials to lead Addis. Taking this step is one way or other proves the oppostion parties are ready to work together with the government. This counter comment is to your last comment, "And then we can work together."
I didn't talk about power for myself or my group. That is Woyane thing. I am talking about power to the PEOPLE. PEOPLE VOTED AND WE NEED TO RESPECT THEIR VOTE. THAT IS ALL.
As the May 15, 2005 Ethiopian election unfolded the no sayers of the elction have been saying many things about & the result of election. Likning the election with their shirts, they have been changing their no saying tune.
We do all remember that the oppostion parties and their supporters have told us that over 90% of the the Ethiopian people have elected them and now with that in mind they ask to form National Unity Government. What a twist! If they believe, they were the ultimate winner, why did they come up with new proposal?
Is it something they want trade peoples vote for power or something else? Why Nestanet (one of di-hard supporter of UEDF) fail to realize that it is immoral to ask power sharing when she thinks like her masters she had won the vote?
"What a twist! If they believe, they were the ultimate winner, why did they come up with new proposal?"
Yes, the opposition won the election. This is a fact not only the Ethiopian people but also the international observers agree.
Yes, the opposition could have said "we are the winner and we can't accept anything otherwise" but they were wise enough to understand the stupidity of Woyane and they offered a National Unity Government to prepare the country for a free election. Right now, Woyane is not ready to give power to the people and the opposition didn't want to create NATIONAL CRISIS in our country. THAT IS THEY OFFERED TO WORK TOGETHER.
It will be totally idiotic to discuss the substance of the National Resistance Union here. The concerned organizations know what a union consists of and how it can come about. The most important thing is to have the will and grasp its historic necessity. As to the programatic differences among parties, that is precisely what they need to surpass. What is a political program, if it does not lead us to freedom, the unity of our nation and the survival our society. All political plans must be subordinate to our national need and the requirement of our freedom. Unite to Win, Divide to Lose. There is no other alternative. Yichalal!
Take out quickily that **** so called EPRP from the union. Take out also that **** so called MEISON from the union. DOWN WITH WEYANE! DOWN WITH EPRP AND MEISON!!!. Weyane, EPRP and MEISON are enemies of the Ethiopian people.
You need to have peace with yourself first. We don't have time for people like you who want to create division within us. Who knows you might have a blood in your hand?
Gebreselasie Zemariame,
If trading peole's vote for power sharing is immoral, what about robbing people's vote to hold on to power that was occupied by the barrel of the gun?
Don't tell me Amharas and Oromos elected Weyanes that formed ANDM in the name of Amharas and OPDO in the name of Oromos respectively. That is garbage.(in the language of your liar leader.)How come no other party was allowed to compete in Tigray? Is it because TPLF's membership will dwindle that your party doesn't allow any other Tigryan party to be formed? Yet you divide all other ethnic groups by forming or facilitating the formation of more than one party so as to weaken them.It will not be a long time before people form a strong party and your wishes will be fruitless.History will judge all those conscienceless people that brought havoc on the people of Ethiopia.
