Thank you for displaying the photo of Shibre Dessalegn on your front page. Shibre will live in our hearts like all the other heroes who have given their lives in the struggle against tyranny and fascism in our country.
I propose that the Addis Abeba City Council dedicate a monument for Shibre and the victims of the June 8th massacre
Shibrie Desalegn, the young Ethiopian school girl was not a politician, far from it. She was not even among the protesters gunned down on June 8th 2005 by Zenawi's militia. She was just one of those rare citizens who, witnessing an injustice being done to her fellow human beings, tried to do something about it. she lost her life doing what was right, standing to face danger in the defence of others.
She deserves the honour to be commemmorated.
