....the mass/majority are to be dealt like objects

Dear Ethiopians,

Meles and his associates will never willingly give up power by accepting the genuine will of the subject matters. For them, as it was for Leninist, the mass/majority are to be dealt like objects, being categorized and analyzed, in order to control their creative abilities and relations. It is sad but this is how they were brain washed back in time. Though they claim to be democrat in present day, they are so fearful of giving themselves to the democratic principles.

With regards to the influence of the global political power structures, I am afraid there can only be negative influence in the region. The people who run the global political power are not as wise people as we will like them to be. Deep within they are imprisoned with confusion and illusion as to which direction to go, especially with a situation with no immediate interest. Compassion is the last thing to expect from these powers since religious conviction drives are out of fashion in their mode of life.

Once again, it is only the actual actions and inactions of Ethiopians and allied associates who can make the difference in shaping the fate of our common shared values.

Appointed or representative officials, whether it is from EU, or US are nothing but servants adding to the confusion of the matter. True friends, such as Donald Levine, speaks out not to serve foreign policies but to contribute to the enrichment of human spirit.

Human,

As alwaus your posting is 100% right at a very general and abstract level, but fails to understand nuances and political subtlties. What do you suggest to do in the meantime. Give us an action plan for today, tomorrow and the day after. Your solutions are always abstract and for the long, long term. as Keyns said in the long term we are all dead. You and Ibrahim are two people I respect very much, for reasons I am yet to figure out.

Selam Mamo,

Here is why I often write in general and abstract level. Information being a thinking ingredient, we can only share facts, thoughts, and ideas with it. That is as far as information goes. In regard to action, how do we act? We act in our relationship to the subject matter. Action demands a physical present, directly or indirectly. Isn’t it? Otherwise, we are like dogs trying to catch their tails, cats running after their own shadows, or lunatics trying to lift themselves up by their own belts. No, to think that one can act with information is a self-deception.

There is no action plan one can endorse to another as in a political situation in Ethiopia. If the other acts based on information received from another, his/her action is corrupt and incomplete. How do you act when a cobra snake approaches you? You react with your naturally born instinct to the problem at hand. The only difference in a political arena is not that people lack an action plan but the fact that people are so ignorant waiting until the cobra bites them as well.

Don’t know who said it but the saying; “Think Globally, Act Locally” has never been clearer as in our information age.
