The election of 2005 is no joke. It is forming unbridgeable cleavage in the EPRDF. The EPRDF went into the elections knowing that they would steal votes.

I know we all agree that in a truly democratic election, EPRDF would and could not be elected. This I even hear from top EPRDF officials and members as well.

It is not because the other CUDs or UEDFs are that perfect.... It is because the people of Ethiopia are grappling with a fundamental issue of nationhood. If the voice of the majority matters, it would eventually come to the surface.

The people of Ethiopia do not trust EPRDF - because it has not ever consulted with the people on any one issue...Constitution, Eritrea, polity, economic policies, education policy, maintaining the fabric of social harmony, Badme (before and after the war)...The people do not feel they have a sense of belongingness in EPRDF...

The people see the EPRDF in contempt....The EPRDF is a collection of Prisoners' of War manifest in OPDO, ANDM, SEPDF.... This makes them as the laughing stocks of their respective regions. The people in the rural areas recognize and revere their own elites though the EPRDF tries to push its toys down the throat of the society. This earned EPRDF contempt, neglect and makes it look like childish... People suspect EPRDF's real intent when it tries to fabricate the people's elite on a tray...

The EPRDF is a party that has no peace with itself. Most of its members love EPRDF because it is a ground for rich corruption....

After the election, EPRDF members, at least those outside the TPLF affirmed that EPRDF is a lifeless organization that they could not feel belongingness and trust it for the future. Most say that they are two time losers...They have seen that where the people's heart is and they are pondering that truth after all could not be hidden. So EPRDFs are realizing that fighting the truth would not work and they could not be double fold losers like the condoms Genet Zewde, Addisu Legesse, Dawit Yohannes................,,,,,...,,..,,..,,..,,.,.,.,.,.,.,

Just after the election, the EPRDF executive committee meting was held where Addis Legesse and Junedin Sado said that the TPLF was conspiring to have them out of elected offices by prohibiting the opposition from Tigray and allowing them in Amhara and Oromo regions to relegate and throw potentially strong men... Addis LEgesse even went as far as shouting that he was intentionally defeated because TPLF wants to keep itself in upper position inside the EPRDF. Many agree that the defeat of Addisu and other major ones while OPPOSITION was prohibited from running in Tigray was a well planned move by TPLF to selectively destroy any potential Oromos or Amharas within the EPRDF.

Some are asking why the TPLF stole the votes FOR the newly childish rookies EPRDF's while it let the seats of Addisu, Genet, Dawit slide down the drain... I share the frustrations of Addisu, Genet... but this is what happens when you work for a mafia that is increasingly losing ground in the population.... The good thing for the opposition is if these defeated people remain in the EPRDF - which makes it easier for attack and mobilizing people against the EPRDF as stubborn and dogmatic. It is also good if EPRDF pushes these defeated people away since it shows that non-TPLFits are considered as condoms....

So in the mind of ordinary citizens like me, EPRDF is losing in all sides....This major rift and division in TPLF verses ANDM, OPDO is the end game for the EPRDF....

It seems to me you do not have conscience.Since when
did Amharas become tribalist? When TPLF and EPLF were organizing some opportunists from different tribes along ethnic lines most of the Amharas refused, prefering to be identified as Ethiopian.For that they were labeled as being not proud of themselves.That was not all.They installed the Eritrean Bereket Simon as their leader and a so-called Amhara party ANDM.That is the truth.Amharas have an aversion for ethnic politics just like the international community all over the world.Amharas as well as the majority of other ethnics,given the opportunity,will prefer Ethiopian identity without any prefix.
