"Dogs Bark Caravan Moves On"

The gameplan for Meles and his cheerleaders is based on the false belief that Ethiopians cannot do much to change the outcome of the election. They hope that we will scream and complain jsut for few days and then we will resign to live in misery under Meles. Yes, In todays globalization the West has a big power to pursuade and force many to dance to its tune. Cuba, Zimbabwe, Iraq are good examples.

While Robert Mugabe's crime pales in comparison to that of Meles Zenawis, we see how much condemnation Mugabe has to face and how much praise Meles enjoys. Mugabe is banned to travel and Meles is invited to represent Africa in Tony Blair's commission for Africa.

What is the crime of Cuba to be to suffer under crushing economic embargo. These are the things they point to us when they want us to do as the say. But for how long?

Both the West and us Ethiopians have to ask "How is it beneficial to anyone to support dictatorship?" The obvious answer will be in the longrun no one will benefit from supporting injustice. As Martin Luther King said, "Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere." So to save ourselves from injustice we have to stand with the people of Ethiopia in helping them what is rightfuly theirs - having their votes respected.

Ethiopians should and could turn their frustration from complaint to a sustained peaceful struggle to free themselves from dictatorship - with or without help from foreign forces.

Hager Bete,

You are my kind of man. We do not want people to tell us how to surender. We want to carry on the peaceful struggle. Lidetu did an excellent job making this clear.
