Bring the topic of who has been who in the history of the TPLF leadership for the past quarter of a century, and names such as Sibhat Nega, Meles Zenawi, Twolde Woldemariam, Siye Abraha and General Hayelom Araya are those whose names are the most widely recognized. But if we talk about whom is known for what, the picture is as different as night and day. And to zoom in on that difference, we have been talking to many current and ex-TPLF Tegadelti.

According to these current and former Tegadeltis, Sibhat Nega is the eldest of all. He is a father figure but only in appearance. In substance, former Tegadelti say that he devoid of compassion, judicial forth right and one with the most irreverence for human life. For most his life, he has been in charge of the security apparatus of the TPLF manning among other things many of his underground prisons tacked in every remote and desolate caves of Tigray. Some people who were imprisoned in these underground ovens recall of the dark, flea-infested, and stench-packed purgatory on earth, packed with tens of thousands of Tegadelti and others, turned pale-yellow until they perished without a day under the sun! In short, the sources say that Sibhat Nega is basically known as the Angel of Death who put tens of thousands of Tigrean Tegadelti, ordinary citizens of Tigray, and other Ethiopians of different nationalities, through his crematoria of underground killing fields!

And then there is Meles Zenawi; Sibhat Nega’s close relative. He is famous for being the first and possibly the only person in the history of the TPLF leadership who is known for abandoning (hadamay) the units he commanded at the sound of the first fire during a battle in the vicinity of Adwa in 1975 E.C.! The sources say that he was sentenced to death for such an act of cowardice but that Sibhat Nega secretly commuted that sentence. Other sources with knowledge of Meles’s tenure in the field also speak of how Aregawi Berhe (former commander of the TPLF army) saw Meles as a danger (untrustworthy and a possible an early detection of his Shaibian connection) to the TPLF, and recommended his elimination. But that once again, Sibhat Nega mysteriously failed to act on that recommendation!

And there is more about Meles. He is well known as a sort of a "news caster" well at reading a prepared text handed to him by the power thinkers of the TPLF leadership. Admittedly, he has oratory skill but devoid of original ideas. He is known as an insecure lightweight office boy reddile with all the frills of mischief and imbecility. Informed sources say that this explains why the TPLF leadership made him one with a title of a Chairman but with a heavy leash of a spokesman! And this may also explain why Meles’s interviews since the departure of the Guardian-12 has become without substance whatsoever and riddled with so much filth and vulgarities!

Meles Zenawi has other firsts too. He is the first person in the leadership and in the history of the TPLF who literally stepped on, trampled and flagrantly violated the Constitution of the TPLF! Never in the history of the TPLF has anyone of any notoriety ever dared to willfully and by design, disrespected let alone literally urinated on the Magna Carta of the people of Tigray! Given this background, no one should be surprised by Meles’s other crimes of abandoning our people in the concentration camps of Eritrea, making Eritrea a dominant player in the coffee cartel of the world, letting Eritrea go without the consent of the Ethiopian people, disarming Ethiopia and allow the incineration of the children of Ayder and the rest of the Shaibian aggression, denying Ethiopia the right to uproot Shaibia from Eritrea, illegally dismissing the most revered leaders of the TPLF/EPRDF, using "ration for petition" to illegally unseat legally elected members of the Parliament (hence rendering the Parliament into a house of yes men and women), killing students by the dozens, imprisoning people for their views, and framing our leaders on fraudulent charges! No one should be surprised that Meles is an outlaw so distinguished by his urination on the tombs of our martyrs!

But mention the name Tewolde Woldemariam (the great great grand son of Dagazmatch Kassa who was martyred along side Emperor Yohannes at the battle against the Derbush), and what one comes across is a universal concurrency among Tigreans of every political orientation, of a man who embodies the conscience of the cause of the Tigrean people in particular and that of the Ethiopian people in general! His colleagues and foes unanimously agree that Tewolde is one whose selfless devotion to the cause is so pure and without blemishes, a man so prolific in thought, vision, strategy, and with devotion and strict adherence to principles, second to none. He is his friend and enemies say a fountain of ideas and of supreme guardian of the truth! He is a man immune to corruptibility and with time only for thinking for the cause often at the expense of his health, family and friends! People who know him very closely say that he has no material ownership of any kind. And he is known as the second most powerful man in Ethiopia but with ownership of a single suit (Suf) that he wears on protocol occasions!

Incidentally, the same can be said of Gebru Asrat, Bitow Belay, Aregash and the rest of the Guardian-12. They are people well known for their simple life, and for their disdain of material wealth so rampant in the "Palace Group!" Being a group of revolutionaries without material wealth, some of the Guardian-12 is already having difficulty paying their rent of about $120 Ethiopian Birr per month! And imagine these are the people Meles Zenawi is accusing of economic corruption!

Then there are the names of Hayelom Araya and Siye Abraha. A mention of these names anywhere in Tigray evokes seismics of emotional storm. Be it in the minds of the young and old, man and woman, Christian and Muslim, and friends and foes, the mere mention of the names of Siye and Hayelom brings images of incredible heroism, inspirational life posts, pride, and the ultimate symbol of selfless devotion to principles and to mission by gallantry!

Siye and Hayelom evoke other thoughts too. People being of heart and mind, are often one or the other. But a fulfilled life is that which aligns the two. An alignment of conception with execution if you will! Siye and Hayelom are two of the most extraordinary people endowed with an abundance of vision and action or mind and heart maximized to the fullest! And in the past quarter of a century or since the birth of the TPLF, we have seen that synchrony of conception and execution so rich in these children of Dedebit, move mountains! Siye and Hayelom have represented, since the birth of the TPLF, both the ferocity of the human will in the face of insurmountable challenges and the power of the heart to forgive in times of tempting moments! In short, Siye and Hayelom have been and will remain so for eons to come, as the duet that epitomized the best of the TPLF, the jewel of Tigray and the kings of heroes of Ethiopia!

It is too bad, and in fact a loss of eternity for all Ethiopia that Hayelom’s life was cut short. It is not actually a single loss; it is a double loss. The first loss being his early death and the second, we do not know the sponsor of his murder! The only things we know are that he was opposed to Meles’s policy toward Eritrea and that his assassin was an Eritrean. We know too that Isayas Afewerki has named an army division in the assassin’s honor, and certain Shaibia military operation during the recent war with our country, in honor of the assassin!

And the investigation into the murder was insincere, as the trial was a sham designed to hide the facts! And we know too something else, and probably the answer to our questions. Hayelom’s assassin was executed the day following Shaibia’s invasion of our country, and days before Meles Zenawi faced his possible arrest as one responsible for the Shaibia aggression! Recall that Meles Zenawi was in a big trouble from his colleagues in the TPLF/EPRDF leadership for a good part of the months following Shaibia’s adventure against our country!

While on the subject of unsolved crimes, it would be naivete at its pinnacle to expect the mystery on the assassination of Kinfe Geberemedhin to be unlocked. In Meles’s Ethiopia, there is no law that works for the truth. There is no law with a mission to protect people let alone to solve crimes. The laws in Meles’s Ethiopia are laws to violate legitimate laws! Meles’s laws are laws that justify official acts of crime or, as they are popularly known, law Quoreta by Bonapartism!

What is known thus far about Kinfe’s assassination is that the assassin did not try to flee. He committed his heinous crime in front of many of his colleagues and in a broad daylight. After firing his last bullet, the assassin put his gun on the ground, raised his hands and surrendered to the authority inches away from him. He did not run as claimed by the Bonapartism media of Meles Zenawi! Nobody knows where the whole thing about the assassin being shot while attempting to flee the scene of the crime came about! But there can be no doubt that Meles Zenawi is burying the case under an avalanche of contradictory lies!

Clearly, Meles is cooking up stories about the murder of Kinfe Genremedhin. But what Meles Zenawi and his "Palace Group" must never forget is the old wisdom of our people which admonishes us that spilling the human blood is like truth; it can never remain buried indefinitely in a mountain of lies. There can be no doubt that the truth about Knife’s murder will survive and triumph over the fraudulent justice of Bonapartism!

One final point on the assassination of Kinfe Geberemedhin. There is now a percolating information that Kinfe refused to allow the stationing of Shaibia security commandos to protect Meles Zenawi. According to this emerging information, Kinfe told Meles Zenawi it would be "over his dead" body for any Shaibia to set foot on Ethiopia’s soil! And people who saw Kinfe in the weeks before his murder say that he was under a tremendous stress and that in a span of two months he aged turning much older than his was two months earlier!

Meles has arrested all of the Siye Abraha family. The first to be arrested Mihretab Abreha and his wife, Fiseha Abreha, Assefa Abraha and their sister, Timit Abraha. Siye Abraha, like any family member would do in times like this, went to the prison where his family was imprisoned and asked the prison officials of the legality of their arrest. The prison officials then called the office of Meles Zenawi and conveyed Siye’s questions. Meles Zenawi’s reply? He instructed the prison officials to arrest him too! At this stage, the seventy year-old mother of Siye Abraha, who has been enduring the tragedy May 29, 2001, collapsed unconscious as the symbol and substance of the Tigrean people was framed and put behind bars!

It is funny how nature works, and how unfair life is! While the mother of Meles Zenawi who voted for Eritrean independence is enjoying the spoils of Ethiopia living in the luxury of her son’s palace, Siye’s mother, that mother who gave us Ethiopia’s premier patriot and Shaibia’s mortal enemy, is gasping for her last breath!

The Ethiopian people know very well who the real criminal is and who the king of economic as well as philosophical corruption is! It is not the Guardian-12 who has lined up the Central Committee of the TPLF with their families. It is Meles Zenawi who has thirteen of the fifteen "Palace Group" dosed with his family, and using these family to destroy our country! And it is the Sibhat Negas, The Birhene Geberechristoses, the Addis Alem Balemas, the Arkebe Oukbays, and the biggest fish of all Meles Zenawi who have amassed fortunes and not a single member of the Guardian-12!

And the Ethiopian people know too that this bonapartistic hoopla of corruption is nothing but an effort to obscure and hide the real issue from coming to the front burner. The corruption sham is being staged in order to prevent the court martial of the biggest brothel of corruption, Bonapartism itself! The drama being played is to hide Meles’s crime against the TPLF, the issue of democracy in our country, and to surrender our country to our mortal enemies! More importantly, the sham being jammed currently in Addis Ababa is to prolong the inevitable- the demise of Meles Zenawi! But what Meles Zenawi and the rest of the "Palace Group" must understand in no uncertain terms is that the inevitable can never be stopped be it by illegally dismissing the Guardia-12, arresting opposition political activists, monopolizing the media, firing General Tsadkan and General Abebe and never either by framing Siye Abraha and his family with the nails of Bonapartism! The fate of Bonapartism with all the Trojan horse it represents was written, at the very hour Meles Zenawi sold his soul to the disciples of Mussolini (whenever that date was, most probably at the our of his birth!) and flagrantly transgressed the Constitution of the TPLF to dismissed the Guardian-12!

We can not pass with out questioning the motive of Bitew Belay’s arrest too. True, he was one of the four high-ranking officials, which oversaw the Privatization Agency. According to sources with knowledge of the inner workings of the Privatization Agency, all four officials of whom one is Mulugeta Alemseged (TPLF cc member who voted for Meles and is one of the Palace Group) must approve and sign all transactions pertaining to the sale of government properties to non-governmental entities! So if all four officials approve and sign all sales, how come it is only Bitew who receives the wrath of Bonapartism?

It is very hard to bear of the humiliation and devastation our country is going through. And it is truly mind boggling for a country of the caliber of Ethiopia, a country rich with spirituality, humanity, history, culture and stature! How is it that this land of mystery somehow ends up with the scum of the earth at its helm of its heart? We know we are a good people with ill filling to no one. We are too a people of conscience endowed with balance and compassion of great depth. But somehow we seem to have lost our capacity to discriminate; we seemed to have lost the aptitude for seeing through and decipher the phony from the real, the guilty from the innocent and the democrat from the tyrant! We get all the opportunity to do so but we squander it! We seem to be prone to making bad decisions! And why bad decisions?

There are many complex reasons as to why we make bad decisions. But it seems as though the central reason is we have not ceased to take the responsibility that we have toward our people, our country, our obligation to the future of our children and our responsibility to our heritage, irresponsibly!

We have known Meles Zenawi all along, and we have been given every opportunity to catch this double-tongued monster. But we failed.

He had told us that Albanian communism was his mission but we did not listen. We have seen him deliver our land to Mussolini without our consent but we did nothing more than half-hearted verbal protest. We stood by and watched as he presided over the expulsion of our people robbed penniless out of Eritrea (our own land for three thousand years) and did nothing other than burn inside. We have witnessed the devouring of our country’s economy, and scarified nothing until it was too late.

And what is worst is that knowing what we know now, that Meles Zenawi knew of the imminent Shaibian invasion of our country three months earlier and that he chose to ignore it, we have him sitting at the highest office in our land!

And there is more bad news for us. He is not only sitting in the highest office of our land but he is busy rendering our country leaderless, our army toothless and auctioning our country to foreign bidders. And speaking of foreign bidders, he is not even bidding it to the highest bidder but to a bidder born and reared in Mussolini’s values, and penniless to make any bid at all! And as has become our tradition nowadays, we are ignoring our inner calling; we are ignoring the plea of our people and country! And unchecked, Meles Zenawi continues to devour our country!

He has gone after the Ethiopian people in general and the Tigrean people in particular. University students have been gunned down for asking for their constitutionally mandated rights. Human Rights advocates (no matter how much we may differ on their approach) have been deprived of the presumption of innocent until proven guilty and confined to prisons, and leaders of political opposition parties have received the same fate if not worst (some of the leaders of these parties are reportedly missing and their whereabouts unknown)!

There could not be anything in the experience of Tigray that would equal the sheer grief and despair Meles Zenawi and his "Palace Group" have bestowed on the people of Tigray! They have shattered ITS legal infrastructure, they have desecrated ITS martyrs, they have condemned it to famine and "ration-for-petition" black mail, they have smothered into smithereens ITS hopes and dreams, and have filled the heart of its enemies with the joy of revenge!

One thing is for sure. We Ethiopians do rise when hurt deeply. That, this we do has been recorded throughout our history, with the latest being following the invasion by Shaibia. Our heart is heavy with sorrow and our patience cornered to the limit. There is no question, we will rise again soon if we have not already done so! We have a responsibility to our country and the future of our children.

if all said above true, how come the Tigreans are not leading the struggle against Meles? It seems that he screwed them more than any other Ethiopian.
