The four members of CUD, namely ''Rainbow Ethiopia: Movement for Democracy and Social Justice'', ''the Ethiopian Democratic League'', ''the All Ethiopian Unity Party'' and ''the United Ethiopian Democratic Party-Medhin'', have reportedly agreed to merge.
According to a CUD press release issued today a Merger Facilitation Committee established earlier is working actively to make the final preparations for the merger within a short time.The merger will be consummated As soon as the preparations are finalized,it said.
The Pre-Merger Declaration Document which indicates their solemn determination to merge was signed today by the four member parties.
The release added that it has now been 8 months since CUD started to function as a coalition of four political parties. During this period, it has accomplished numerous tasks, its primary focus being around the May 15 election.
