Zenawi has followed up the June 8th massacre in Addis Abeba with country wide reprisals on the Ethiopian people. He has raised the level of his brutality to new heights. Reminiscent of the atrocities of fascist mussolini, meles zenawi has ordered people of all ages including women and children to be rounded up and taken to prison camps.
Prisoners suspected to be supporters of opposition parties are being tortured and executed.
Members of the opposition parties are being shot in broad day light. Tesfaye Adane Gara and another member of the United Ethiopia Democratic Party, both newly elected members of parliament, have been assassinated in Arsi by the fascist woyane police; and leaders of the opposition are under arrest, unable to leave their homes and 24 hours guarded by the fascist Gestapo.
Peasant farmers and their families are being tortured and slaughtered in Gojam, Arsi, Wollo and in Shoa and Sidamo. Their homes are being torched and raised to the ground and their property destroyed. Zenawi’s revenge for his humiliating defeat in the election has bee an unmitigated, brutal and sadistic violence. He is awash with the blood of the Ethiopian people.
There is no doubt that the main aim of this fascist dictator is to intimidate and to bring the people to submission by murder, torture and imprisonment. Realising that the ballot box has not worked for him there is no other way open to him to stay in power other than turning the country in to a tyrannical dictatorship where he will be the supreme ruler.
The fascist atrocities have angered Ethiopians through out the world. These cruelties of zenawi have galvanised support for the suffering people of Ethiopia. The June 8 massacre and the atrocities taking place across Ethiopia right now can not be ignored. Every one is being affected with so many innocent people being brutalised by a merciless tyrant.
The fascist zenawi has declared an open war on the people of Ethiopia, on democracy, on justice and freedom. This evil tyrant must be confronted and defeated so that peace prevails in our country.
The wish of the Ethiopian people expressed in the ballot box should be respected, their voice must be heard and their votes should be made to count. There is no other way to pay respect to the sacrifices of our people to secure their rights and to maintain their human dignity.
In the end the peaceful, the decent and the tolerant people of Ethiopia will be triumphant and the seemingly powerful fascists will be defeated.
