Does anyone know where I can find PPD stability information when drawn up in a syringe from the CDC? I called both JHP and Sanofi and they both told me that only immediate use is recommended. I have been asked to find the CDC recommendation. In years past we have used a 6 hour window and I need to verify that information. Thanks for the help.
PROCEDURE (adults and children)
· The tuberculin solution should be kept under refrigeration, away from exposure to strong light, and
always handled in an aseptic manner. In order to maintain potency and avoid tampering or
contamination, the solution should be used shortly after the syringe is filled.
