Hey guys how do we get a manufactures to make common strenths of drugs not currently available? Like Metoprolol 12.5mg and misoprostol 50mg. Dose every one else cut and pack these in their pharmacy or do you have the nurses cut them on the floor? Seems UDL could jump on this opportunity.
Have you ever tried to send it off to something like
Shamrock medical we send things there to get unit dosed they will cut and package the drug for you it's about .20 cents a dose maybe check with them
Name of Facility: LHC Group Pharmaceutical Services
We were storing the 25mg tabs in pyxis and the nurses would cut them on their own to make the 12.5mg dose. Then we realized half the time a 25mg dose was given and not the 12.5mg we decided to start cutting them in the pharmacy and packaging them before being dispensed. We packaged around 400 to 600 a week. It is very time consuming! It would be great to see a company pick this dose size up!!
