We are running a mock disaster in which all power and generators are gone.
Would opening our pyxis machines even be an option?
No idea where meds are at and cant leave narcotics unattended.
Any thoughts on this?
We have had this drill, we supply staff to assist with regular medications, going back to fill ziplok bags with patient medication face sheets. For narcotics we do narcotic tracking book, with the ability to put patient name, medication pulled and count before and after in a locked cabinet with the charge nurse having the key.
