Albuterol inhalers and counters with vents

We are having a very stressful time with the switch to HFA products and the dose counters now on the canisters. The anesthesia people are hopping mad at pharmacy because the counters do not let the inhaler connect to the tubes they use. The ventolator people have a device to attach that makes them useable but not a perfct solution. I guess the attachment costs about $4 each. What are others doing? I hate to invent the wheel all over if someone else has already handled that task. HELP!!!

We are now using Proair HFA 90mcg Inhaler 8.5GM, Ivax labs (55931-0579-20). We had to switch becasue we had the same issue with Anesthesia. The proair does not have the dose counter, but they are more pricey.

We had the same issue with anesthesia. We are now using the Proair inhalers for anesthesia only, due to the cost, and the Ventolin HFA throughout the rest of the hospital.

Thanks for the replies. We are going to try the Proair for the picky vent and anesthesia people and keep with the half the cost stuff for everyone else. Let's just hope they don't change them for a while.
