we are just starting up with this. I had someone on it full time, untill she ended up out because her apendix burst. I have been trying to get some barcoding done around my own job but I only get 2 or three meds a day done.
She had been working for a month already and all she had made it through was standardizing the lablels in our unit dosing library so that they all had correct barcodes.
So I would agree that having a FTE for 3-4 months is probably necessairy
Admin Rx operates on HED which by itself gets fed by HMM (Mckesson clinical). This is totaly a different platform than CRX which you may deal with if you have McKesson automation. During the implementation he/she (whoever is in charge of this) should make sure that all NDCs present in Rx are in the system. After the implementation, you should come up with a system of who will do what when a new NDC is purchased.
Thanks Bledie,
How are you? I was wondering if maybe you would have some kind of handbook that helped you through the process. I just got my registration for admin rx class. I know you will be a great resource for me and I still have your card so I WILL be calling you. If that if is ok with you.
