Re: Perpetual Inventory Systems

We are also looking at implementing a perpetual inventory system. We use Meditech and there is a system within that program that you can do it with. We are hoping to schedule some site visits ASAP to hospitals that are already doing this and will share any info I get.

If you'd be willing to share what you learned, I'd like to hear about how facilities are managing such a system. I have understood that very few institutional pharmacies anywhere in the US use a perpetual inventory system. It's too labor intensive, and therefore too costly to justify.

Penny - will do. I have not heard anything at this point, as you say very few do this. Our accounting department as well as our auditors want this, but it is looking less and less likely.

Re: Perpetual Inventory Systems

I am interested on this too. It seems like technology is there, but we are not utilizing it.
