I have not had to give them all lot #s. If we change brands or they just need to calibrate they come and get one vial of each strength and a premade bag from us. I don't know what their process is after that.
What we do here is order a year's worth, estimated of course, of heparin IV at a time. When it comes in I give a bag to the lab and they calibrate accordingly. We then pull the prevoius year's bags and replace with the new bags. This way there is no question about expiration dates, lot numbers, etc. Don't know if this helps but I know it helps me to see how other facilities run their departments.
