I am looking for information regarding polytef paste.
I thought it was discontinued some time ago, but I am
still getting requests to supply it to the OR.
Does anyone out there use this product?
If so, please let me know where it comes from.
If not, any information about date of discontinuation,
or former manufactures name etc. would be most helpful
and appreciated. Thanks.
What is it being used for? There's a company called Mentor Corporation in Santa Barbara, CA that makes an injectable polytef for vocal cord treatments, and possibly for urinary incontinence; I also read about it being used in commercial plumbing supplies (which is kinda the same thing, I guess).
Thanks Mike.
Mentor told me that they sold their urology division,
which apparently included polytef, to Coloplast.
Coloplast told me that they discontinued the product last October. I am going to check again with both companies because this MD is very insistent.
If anyone out there is currently buying this stuff
where are you getting it from?
I remember this from years ago, but I checked Cardinal and they don't stock it.
Don't you wonder about doctors who don't understand the term "manufacturer discontinued"?
