Ameridose Product Disposal

Good day all,

We have a bunch of Oxytocin in IV bags from Ameridose and have no idea how to dispose of it? Can anyone clue me into how you dispose of any expired or once-frozen (and therefore useless) oxytocin.

Thanks!

Re: Ameridose Product Disposal

Does Ameridose have any suggestions about this? Or, I suppose, you could save them for your reverse distributor (if you use one) and have them process the bags. You may not get credit for them, but they would be properly disposed of.

They'll work with you on credit/replacement. Check with Stericycle or other third party company how to dispose it. Reverse distribution will take it and dispose it, but you may have to pay for it.

Re: Ameridose Product Disposal

Due to the extreme cold, I had a shipment freeze. I was able to return product and they sent out replacements right away.

You should dispose of per hospital protocol. I would ask for a credit from the vendor.
