Good morning Michael,

You are absolutely right in your correction:

The only thing that you are a little off on is the part where Ma-nas-she and Ephraim are blessed. Ma-nas-she became the United States, not Ephraim. Ephraim is Great Britain. Ephraim became the common wealth of nations. Ma-nas-she became a Great Nation!


I have gotten this mixed up in the past and here is why. I see America as the greatest of nations BUT, the fact is that she is the off-spring of Great Britain, who is still the head of this Common Wealth of Nations, which includes Canada, Australia and other places.

It seems to be a very hard fact to accept by most that these two sons of Joseph head up the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, which included the tribe of Dan (and that is a separate story). In the refusal to accept this, what can be said of where these Ten Northern Tribes relocated? Ephraim's land allocation given to him butts on the north of Benjamin where Jerusalem is located. His tribe actually held the largest piece of territory among all of the tribes, which I am sure was a source of jealousy to the others since he was only 1/2 Hebrew but adopted wholly into the family by Israel. Every head of a tribe carried the stick (on which was engraved his rightful birthright. In the case of the Northern Tribes, they had the most land mass then and continue to do so to this day to where they have been driven.

What they do not have is what they want more than anything else; that is the Kingship over all the others, which was given to Judah. "The scepter will not depart from Judah until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.." Genesis 49:10

And that is the on-going dispute between the two sides; Israel and Essau which will end with the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then and only then, will the two sides have reconciliation and that is what is meant by the two sticks becoming one.
