Tyne Beach

I am looking at staying at Tyne Beach, Jackie, where did you see bad reviews? Can anyone give me up-tp-date information on this place. I like the idea of being isolated and plan on renting a car. I cannot find the actual location on the maps I have. i grew up in Freeport and have not been back in 18 yrs, looking forward to our trip. Can't wait!

Re: Tyne Beach

Kristen,
Tyne Beach is one place I have never been to, so all I can do is tell you what I've heard. I know it's well down the beach West of Island Seas. I have also seen both good and bad reports. The good reports have been those most recent, so it's very possible renovations have been performed in the last year or so. Other than that I can't tell you any more. I dislike trying to give folks advice on something of which I have no first hand knowledge. Hopefully one of the regular vistors here will stop by shortly and give you better information.

Re: Tyne Beach

Thanks Danny for your input. I was told that Running Mon had purchased the property and renovated it, guess it was an eye sore for his property. I am not too worried about being "off-the-beaten-path", I plan on renting a car anyway. As long as I am walking distance from the beach I will be happy. Besides, got to head out to Barbary Beach area! Kristin

Kristen,
I'm not sure if this is news to you or not, but last I heard Running Mon was out of business.

Re: Tyne Beach

Tyne beach looks good and if you have a car, you will be fine. It is right on the beach and should be quiet and relaxing. One suggestion. If you plan on renting a car, do it prior to arrival and get it at the airport. a taxi to Tyne beach from the airport will probably be $25-$30. I have used Brad's car rental several times and was very pleased. http://www.bahamasvacationguide.com/brads.html
Many people also recommend KSR car rental, but I have not used them. http://www.the-bahamas-car-rentals.com/ksr/

Re: Tyne Beach

Kristin:
I have stayed at Tyne Beach Terrace a couple times and find it is a great place!!! Just be advised that it is near absolutely nothing except the beach!!! I always rent a car from KSR so the location is great for me! The resort also offers a shuttle service for $35 weekly. If you are interested, let me know! I will be there this Memorial Day weekend week!! Can't wait!
Peace, Flamingo
