pupil confidentiality
I'm a student teacher and a pupil recently confided in me about personal issues, and admitted to having cut herself in the past. She was really upset, I had her in my room for over half an hour. She asked me not to tell anyone any of what she told me, but i'm not sure whether that is the right thing to do. I'm only at the school for a few more weeks and I wonder if I should speak to the teacher I am working with about this girl? |

Can you approach the girl and tell her your concerns and ask her if she would mind if you talked to a professional counsellor about her situation? I think that whatever you do the girl in question should be kept informed. Henry |
