Subject:   Tigers v Readingensians

Message:   I have watched and played in hundreds of matches but never before have I come across a more un-gracious and arrogant team as Readingensians. I hope someone at Readingensians reads this and passes it on.

This isn't sour grapes, I freely admit the Tigers were well and truly beaten, out-played and out-classed in virtually every department. No excuses about a lack of hookers and front row injuries. Tigers were poor for 60% of the match - missing countless tackles, missing touch kicks, bad lineouts, lacking fitness etc etc.

It is easy if annoying to accept that we were beaten by a better team.... BUT sometimes how you win is more important than the actual act of winning.

Quite why a young group of obviously talented players felt the need to become so arrogant and to brag, boast, and generally act like a bunch of footballers is beyond me. At times there behaviour was appalling and embarrasing. I sincerely hope it is not a road other teams / players start to take.

The reason I play and watch rugby is because it is a hard, tough sport but in between all of that it is an honest, respectful and 'gentlemanly' game.

Amateur clubs such as Cheltenham will flow up and down the league structures with the quality and availability of players changing every year.

When I was, 'learning my trade' I kept my mouth shut and tried to learn from those around me. Remember one thing young players of Readingensians.... If you really were THAT good.... would you still be playing in South West 2 East !!
