The new series

Its only a few months to the new series. I do find myself getting quite excited by the idea. Will the new series be a one off or can anyone see a follow up. If the book is to be th basis ofthe series and it finishes with Abby finding Peter (whether or not he kills her) what would we be lookng for in a second series?

Re: The new series

Yes Kevin, I'm looking forwards to the new series as well ... there has been discussion on how well it will be done (CGI etc), how PC, etc etc but I don't really mind. Just glad to get a fresh look at my favourite TV program. Can't wait. Be interesting to see how we all cope with 'new faces' for old characters. We might have to look after Bob a bit as he comes to terms with a new 'Jenny':-)
If they follow the book, then a second series could easily carry on from across the channel with the survivors who made it that far. Haven't read the book for a while but from memory, don't they all get across the channel except Abby & Tom Price (I might be confused there because the other book carries on with Tom Price & Peter after the beach altercation.)
Anyway I like the idea of seeing how the survivors would go over in France or where ever they end up in Europe. I've never quite got to grips with how people (with todays limited knowledge of hunting/agriculture)would get on in the inclement UK climate. I keep getting beating around the head when I mention this but after gardening in Scotland for 3 years and then comparing it with the relative ease of gardening/keeping stock outside all year in New Zealand, I'm convinced that people (or at least some of them)in the UK would make a break for the warmer climate of southern France (or islands like Jersey & the Isle of Wight). This is not to say that you can't garden/keep stock in the UK, just that the people who did this well had centeries to learn how to do this and how to 'put aside' for the lean late winter/early spring months. There has been discussion previously on how 'our' survivors would get on in a foreign country as they came across the 'native' people. This would be an interesting aspect - I suspect that Survivors scenario of very, very few people left would push aside differences & terrtotial boundaries and any survivors would be glad to see more people.

So I think that we will see further series but like most actors they would probably be quite keen to see the program go off shore to somewhere like the South of France! I say that 'tounge in cheek'.
All the best.
