It was established in the message from Sunday's message (which is still playing on the website) that walking in faith is like walking on a tightrope. If you look down and focus on the scary images of failure, you will fall. If you listen to the negative words being yelled at you, you will fall. You must focus your eyes on the next platform (the vision that God has allowed you to see) in order to get there and cancel out every thought that comes against it.
As I considered the message today I received an additional revelation concerning the tightrope. One of the most important things in keeping your balance and making it to the other side is good posture. Good posture represents many things that are extremely valuable in faith.
It represents confidence and assurance in what you are doing. You must be confident in God, full of faith in Him, in order for the vision He gave you to come to pass, for it is impossible to please Him without faith.
It represents a strong core. In physiology, strong abdominals encourage good posture and support the balance of the rest of the body. In faith, using the rock (Jesus) as your foundation will keep you in balance and grounded in the midst of any storms.
It represents the boldness needed to advance "...the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force." We must be bold in the declaration of our faith and in standing on the word of the Lord.
And, it represents leadership. Leaders look up and ahead and determine the path they are going to set, while followers look at the path that the leaders have established.
Good posture, keeping your head up, is overall vital, in walking in faith to achieve your dreams, so keep your head high as you press toward the mark for the high calling in Jesus. You know, when I got into the brief habit of walking with my head down my hair started thinning right at the top, front of my head. God forced me to start keeping my head up, and truth is the hair started doing better when I started doing it. It didn't get thick as it once did or anything, but that just serves as a regular reminder to always keep my head up and not forget in the future. I therefore, encourage you to even now start holding your head high, in all situations no matter what you're going through. Keep your head high, as you walk boldly in the faith towards the vision that God has given you. And then, watch, as your path to it across the tightrope of life becomes easier and more grounded. Bless you in the name of Jesus.
