Message:   Protect Missouri Freedoms!
By Rick Ryan

Ever since I learned about Senate Bill 32 that was sponsored by Lee Summit’s Senator Matt Bartle, I’ve been actively involved in making people aware of the absurdity of the suicidal-type actions that Matt Bartle and Republican senators in Missouri are trying to pass through as law.
I’ve had several emails and phone calls from people very concerned about SB32. These people have been located anywhere from Kansas City to Springfield, St. Louis to St. Joe, the Lake of the Ozarks, and even people in Kansas who are concerned that if this bill passes in Missouri, Kansas is next. As I make my rounds each week to various businesses, hundreds of people have openly voiced their anger at the intrusive state governmental restrictions being proposed against the Adult Industry in Missouri. I’ve been to Vietnam (not drafted - but joined on my own free will), had uncles and my dad in World War II, friends involved in wars after that, and now friends in Iraq. My heart and intellect cries for the many guardians of freedom who suffered and/or died in support of freedom and the Constitution 0 and, yes, personal rights as innately included therein! I’m astounded at the way certain officials in Jefferson City, and Matt Bartle, propose actions in Senate Bill 32 which will trample upon our great Constitution - the right of free people to enjoy Adult Entertainment in Missouri should not be infringed upon by these violators of personal freedom. One wonders if perhaps some of these folks need some personal psychological and emotional assistance to help them realize that sex is God-given and that it is natural, normal and healthy - restricting the citizen’s freedom to choose is not the appropriate way for these people to deal with their own sexual hang-ups and problems!
Some people have said that I use too strong a language in telling people what this SB32 bill is all about. That calling these people Nazi’s is ridiculous. Well, didn’t the Nazi’s take measures against the Jews that they didn’t approve of? The same case here! Matt Bartle and his group of people are taking measures against people who enjoy Adult Entertainment because THEY don’t approve of it. Sounds like Nazism to me!
From the economic viewpoint, I’m bewildered by the disastrous impact these restrictions will cause citizenry. Whether one agrees or not with the right to patronage Adult Entertainment, every Missouri resident should worry about the loss of revenues which the state will lose if these intrusive regulations in SB32 are allowed into law. Keep in mind that we’re not talking just about the direct effect of the owners and entertainers, but even more impacting will be the thousands of jobs affected by indirect business losses. And, don’t forget that organizations surveying cities for business meetings and conventions will consider the lack of adequate Adult Entertainment as a factor when they and their dollars go to some other city outside of Missouri! I’ve talked with many people in big business in the past about this sort of thing, and if a city doesn’t have, or is very restrictive towards Adult Entertainment, they’ll find the city or state that isn’t. A pure fact my friend!
Missouri, please don’t “shoot yourself” in the foot! Rather, get actively involved in rallying fellow citizens to defeat this insane murdering of your personal freedom and your state’s economic health. Seek out your friends, neighbors, co-workers, active duty/reservist/retired military, and others to get involved and vote out those officials who are trying to trample upon our flag, upon your personal freedom to choose where to go for entertainment, and upon the economic livelihood of your Missouri cities. As Matt Bartle said himself, he wants to run Adult Entertainment out of Missouri at ANY COST. That cost will come back on you, the taxpayer, eventually. Isn’t taxes high enough? Haven’t we lost enough jobs after 9/11? Do we really need other people telling us how to live our lives and what we can or cannot do in our personal life? We don’t need to be crucified like Christ was! And, in fact, this is what Matt Bartle is trying to do to us.
As Missourians and Americans, stand up against Senate Bill 32. Please make phone calls to your state representative and senator. Let them know how you really feel about this bill that is pure Nazism. Let them know that you’ll be voting them out of office during the next elections. Don’t be ashamed to speak out against those who want to crush our freedom of choice. Remember, this gift was given to us by God! And I, for one, have never been ashamed of the gift that God gave me.
Please go to missouriace.com for more information or call them at (573)761-5400. Remember...we would have never thought that jet aircraft would have been flown into the Trade Centers in New York on 9/11, but it happened. Don’t ever think that SB32 would never pass because it sounds s
