Horse Shows for 2008?
Are the Desert Riders going to have any English/Western open horse shows in the foreseeable future? We have attended your shows in the past (2003-2006) and enjoyed competing there with our horses and students very much. Thank you for any responses! |

We have discussed having some shows, but we do not have enough volunteers to put these shows on. We have also experienced minimal participation. Shows are in the back of our minds, but non are being considered right now due to volunteers and participation. |

I don't think AVDR has open English/Western horse shows anymore, but I do know that there is a playday being hosted at CrescentMoonRanch&Stables by Arabians of the Desert. It is an open show, not just for Arabs. However, there will be some classes for arab types only (saddlebred, National show horse, etc...) I'm not quite sure what the class list looks like yet, but I do know that they have awesome facilities (huge show arena, round pen, warm up arena, covered arena as well as additional space cleared for warming up) You can see more at crescentmoonranch.net

Thank you Board Member for your answer. Hopefully someone can step forward for the 2009 year. Thank you also very much, Emily. We are actually a predominantly Arabian facility (though we have a wide variety of breeds) and have considered showing in years past (2003-2004) at the ADHA shows held back then, but it never seemed to work out. Do you have any idea about the date of this show? We're putting together our show schedule, and have a number of events on the books right now, however, we are always looking for future events (especially with judges sympathetic to Arabian horses!). Thanks! |

Stacy-See my post! Emily got to it before I could get the word out. Go to my website (www.crescentmoonranch.net) to download the class list, get directions, etc. If participation is good, I am considering having several more shows in the future with the hopes of having a show series with high point year end awards, etc. Need volunteers though. Any takers? |
