A full original serie idea...
Dear Mrs Anderson. Like a complete generation all around the world, I grew up with Mike Mercury, Troy Tempest, the Tracy's, Captain Scarlett, Joe 90, Cmdt Koenig and so on. As my sons are actually watching the Thunderbirds on tape, I'm writing to you because I have an idea that could bring back alive the Thunderbirds for a hole new serie. This idea has been qualified "fantastic, marvelous, incredible" by a hole bunch of Tunderbirds-lovers folks. I would love to submit the concept. If you have the time somehow, it would be more than great if you could find some time to write me short answer in order to give you a synopsis. Thank you for having read this. With best regards!!! |

The remake right to all the Anderson shows are held at Carlton, so sadly they are the ones to contact. But really all these shows had a unique collection of people involved. These creative people somehow came together and made a special kind of magic that can not be duplicated. As we lose each of them to time.. think and celebrate these never ending time capsules of artistic triumph. Sylvia was in those years, one of the hardest working artists in the world. |

Dear Mr Greenwood, You are so right on that point. I will never forget those artistic masterchieves, I have the full collection on videotapes. I'll get the DVD's as well. I just LOVE the results obtained with puppets, and so do my wife and my two young sons... Nothing can replace it. If I get any result with my project, believe me, it won't try to "continue" or "replace" the Anderson's serie. It would be a tribute. Thanks for your answer. I appreciate. |

Good Luck, But really unless you have mastered about twenty crafts, your doomed to fail. To produce anything close to the quality of AP films would cost millions of pounds. Many of my friends worked on the recent Team America puppet film. They approched it with the mind set that it's a snap to duplicate that look..it was not. And on top of that they had a huge amount of lead up before they really came up to speed. Thunderbirds came from years of hard work and a complete understanding of the process. Frankly I would not even think of trying it without some of these elder statesmen around. What this all boils down to is this type of film production is near impossible. Before you even think of it do some local theatre, please find out how really hard it is to mount even the most simple kind of production. Carlton lucked into the Anderson film collection as did the company before them. They had nothing to do with the production of these shows so they will never be able to grasp the huge amount of hard work and pure talent it took to make them work. Without the original production team they would never be able to even come close. |
