Message:   Hi, Sandie,I have a pic of one of the 100 ft Motor Launches built by Weatherheads at Cockenzie. It shows one just prior to launching at the yard, it's not a very clear pic and I have no idea of the photographer.
I think that Weatherheads built 18 of these MLs at Cockenzie in WW2. Their building shed was not tall enough, so they had to lower the floor prior to starting. They also built landing craft and cabin cruisers for the Admiralty, and because of this, had to erect a second shed.
Somewhere, I have a chapter on boatbuilding written by William Hickey, who was the company secretary during the war. Can hunt it out. If this stuff is of use, give your email address to Billy the webmaster, and We can get it sent on to you, Graham
