Welcome! This forum is about interpersonal manipulation (especially in its extreme forms) and also about how we are all the hero of our own stories, our own lives.

Highly manipulative relationships and groups include battering relationships, cults, and many others which are more subtle and therefore harder to spot. Being a healthy hero is centered on the opposite -- becoming as autonomous as possible and endorsing the autonomy of others.

Message:   Ok, I hear what you are saying. I won't push it. However....after allowing the 16 year old to use the car and drove it over to his moms from our house....we learned that he destroyed the front 2 tires. He claims he lost control in a parking lot and drove over a curb. Caused one of the front tires to be flat, and the other front one has damage on the side of the tire and the rim is bent so i'm skeptical. I believe that he should pay the full amount of the tires with his birthday money (husband seems to only be forcing him to pay $100 for them). And also, is it still ok for husband to take son to the movie over the weekend after THIS has now happened?

Thanks,
Confused
