Do not ejaculate now!

This is a response to some who believe that the Labor Party will fall and the Liberal Party will be our savior . If we vote Yes, no matter who wins the elections, it will be fait accompli. EBA3 will be registered and the Liberal Party will breathe a sigh of relief. We've got them off our back. We will sort them out in 2011. Now more than ever we need to campaign for the No vote!

Re: Do not ejaculate now!

I think posters are coming to a premature conclusion. Let’s take a grip,

I think Gail is referring to the verb ejaculate. "To utter suddenly and passionately; exclaim."

Therefore it would be perfectly reasonable for one to write: “Accidental’s been tossed out” ejaculated Boxer. “It’s about time; he really was a wxxxer!”

Re: Do not ejaculate now!

The 'no' vote is easy for me, but whether to vote for Labor or, for the first time ever Liberal, is very difficult for me.
It really is a painful election for me.
Carps really is too cocky for me but I'm not sure I can vote in favour of the old fella back in charge of the Libs, Barnett. Especially as he's been endorsed by Dick Court.
It pricks my conscience to even consider the Libs, however.
Come Saturday, hopefully we'll all pull together and make the right decision.

Re: Do not ejaculate now!

If the members of the WA labor party pulled together to eject Carpenter as leader then the party would not be seen as being so so impotent in managing the boom. Finding a member who has a hard and positive record for any duration is quite difficult. Quite frankly they are all soft and rubbery and the chances are that any new member for premier would not see me screaming with delight. The election has come too early for some and liberal has not had enough time to get leverage with the new member in. Each opposing member been dribbling toward the Saturday finish line without a sign of any member driving it home. Anyway someone will be gushing on Saturday night. The question is who will clean up DET and CC.

Re: Do not ejaculate now!

Quite frankly we need to get to get to the crux or nub of the problem, take a grip, and all pull together; surely that’s not too hard to swallow?. Regardless of how hard the problem, if we’re prepared to pull as one, I’m sure a solution will come to hand. There are some of us who will flip-flop, vacillate, and go back and forth, however that sort of baggage comes with the territory.

Certainly we’re in a pretty sticky situation at the moment, but if we come at it from all angles, willy nilly, we’re bound to blow it. We’re just going to have to put our shoulders to the wheel, noses to the grindstone and prepare to take what comes, regardless of how painful it may be. So stop fannying about and with a stroke of luck, it shouldn’t be a total ball-up and we won’t blow it.

On polling day, make sure you toss out the sitting members. Accidental thought the Labour party was impregnable, however his bunch of stiffs have made the unbearable conceivable.

And what the hell was Fran Logan thinking when he introduced the local member to one of his staffers? When Accidental said that a member’s bar was not appropriate for a workplace, I didn’t know he was referring to Logan.

Enjoy the climax on Saturday night, but let's come back in 10 or so months and see what has actually been delivered.

Will the (new) government actually rise to the challenge? Have they sown the seeds for change? They're full of spunk just now but will these honourable members be so cocky then? Let's hope they can keep it up and go the distance.

Re: Do not ejaculate now!

I'll abstain from this thread after today. The election has come and I think Carpenter may have blown it. All this election discussion being constantly rammed from every position has left me numb. Ultimately the elected member needs to grab the situation by the ankles and drive home some real dynamic change without going flaccid in determination. As a citizen of WA I don't appreciate having my member smeared across the face of the country's media.

Re: Do not ejaculate now!

You've got to hand it to Col. He was given the poisoned chalice and whip hand only a few weeks ago. Despite a quiet start and most commentators saying he wasn't up to it, he's been coming on very strongly from behind. With the help of the electors; a final spurt should get him over the line. Even Accidental admitted that Col was polling well and had pulled ahead.

Regardless of whether Col comes first or second; it's been a gripping spectacle and he’s made a decent fist of it. If Col comes second then no one can accuse him of not having a decent bash at it. After all it was a stiff challenge and no one expected him to perform so well from the rear. Many said he was so far behind he had no chance of nailing Accidental. I bet Accidental has had a few nightmares about Col breathing down his neck!

In the wash-up after polling has finished, and we’ve gone through the messy process of working out who actually came first, we will have a result at hand. It will be interesting to see who finished battered and bruised. One of them will be deflated, whipped, sore and sorry and possibly get the sack. The other will have to gird his loins and come to grips with a new stiff challenge thrust upon him.
Clifford Chapman
