Young Stud
Hi Dean beena long time. Congrads on sucha great year. I do have a question. I have a coming 3 year old stud and he has no more then 50 rides on him. He is very quiet except that he calls when he sees other horses. I have tried to pull him around and even was told to jerk hard on one rein when he did that to get him to refocus on me. Well that doesn't seem to work. I have had him the the aren with other horses and at times he was great not even a look at the other horse and then other times he calls to them. Can you please let me know how to work on fixing this? Also how much are you training videos? I am with out a coach and have him at home now and want to start turning him into a reining horse as he is very quick to learn and alrady has a stop going on him. Thanks Dean |

Re: Young Stud
Amber, To fix your problem you have to be careful or all you will end up with is a horse that cries out that is scared while he is doing it. All i do is push the horse up into the bridle very deep making him drive up into the bridle and focus. So if you do not have much face on the horse you need to get some. And that is all I would do. As he gets more broke he will get focused on you and your problem I will guess will go away.. Training videos are $175.00 Dean Brown |

Re: Young Stud
Hi Dean, I will try that as he doesn't do it all the time. The times he doesn't do it I must have him focused on me enough to not really care about the others horses around. I just got to make sure that I stay on top of it before it gets to him calling. Thanks for the advice. Amber |
