splint boots
Hi Dean, what type of support do you use for front legs? and what is your opinion of the boots with the suspensory support? I have read conflicting opinions on it and recently my mare has been sore. I was wondering if the suspensory strap is causing more harm than good. |

I would also like to know your opinion on fleece polo wraps for working support! |

Re: splint boots
For horses that are working on a day to day basis 5 to 6 days a week I think it is a good idea to change what type of protection you use. If it is a boot or a polo wrap. This way you are releaving any pressure points that may be causing irritaion or potential soreness. I try to use as little protection as possible. The less of this equipment I use the less potential there is for rubbing or pressure soreness to occure. I usually try to use bandages with a polo wrap on top. This seems to give me the best flexibility with the least chance for repetitive pressure soreness to occure. Dean Brown |
