legs
Hi, this may sound like a stupid question, but it's something I've been wondering...my gelding isn't a stalky horse, he's only about 14.2 and petite. Along with that, he doesn't have very big-boned legs, and has small feet compared to a lot of horses. (his feet don't seem small relative to his own size/build, but in general..). I wasn't sure if this would affect him as a reining horse or if it would cause him problems with soundness? Also, his hind right foot is just a tad splayed...will this make him have trouble sliding well? Thanks! |

Re: legs
If your horse is basically structurally sound. And he fits together alright you should be ok. Maybe you will have problems maybe you will not. I have seen allot of horse that look like they should break down and never do. I have seen others that look like they never should break down and they do. The one hind foot that is not straight can effect him but most likely with a little shoeing change for that foot you will be fine. Dean Brown |
