rundowns
As my horse is running toward the fence and increasing speed, her head gradually comes up and she turns her head to the right with her left rib cage pushing out. When I use my left leg to straighten her out, she changes leads and slows down. If I ride in 2 hands I can bump her nose straight but as soon as I go back to one hand she bends to the right again. Any ideas how to fix her? I have stopped and side passed to the right but it doesn't seem to be a lasting fix. |

Re: rundowns
I think you need to try to start the fix with one hand. Then go to two hands when you are unable to get it fixed with one. Even go to two hands to reinforce the fix with one if you get it. You will need to bump or hold with one hand. Making the horse fit between the reins. Also if you could could keep more pressure on your right leg and only bump or kick with the left leg. Do not push with it this might help. If you are unable to get this it means you have a basic that does not work. How easy is your horse to stand up on the left side when you are cicleing. Maybe allot of walking or troting for a few days get the horse better at standing up its shoulder. Or your other problem could be your horse has no right side to its face. Meaning you need to try to get the horse to react straighter when you use the right rein. Thus getting your horse to be more even from side to side. Dean Brown |
